IMO, not Goodfellas great, but very solid, and based on true story. Fairly accurate.

    He's awful.

I will disagree to a point. I think he's a great actor, BUT oftentimes he chooses (or is chosen for) crap movies (Hi, Tim!). Donnie Brasco was awesome, in movie, and Depp's character, for example.

Overall, I will agree he is overrated, but that also doesn't mean he isn't good. The vehicles he's been in, as a whole, though.....

I'll admit it wasn't as good as it should have been, but I think it still was a darn good movie.

I liked the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus though not because of Depp. I enjoyed the first Pirates movie as well, but it's gotten a bit ridiculous. I liked Chocolat, but certainly more for Juliette Binoche than Depp. So I guess I've enjoyed movies he's in, but his performance isn't the reason that I enjoyed them.

He did a good Wonka. Public Enemies was great. Alice was meh, same with The Tourist. And yes, Rango was fun.

    Ninth Gate was when? 1998?

(Actually he was a decent Sweeney in 2007).

This movie had everything that I am interested in. And....blah. Depp did well, goes without saying. But...it just didn't hook me.
