    Why would that matter?

If you're saying that unless it's Bon Scott, it's not AC/DC, that's a bit different. Bon died. Kinda puts a damper on things.

The alleged treatment of Brian with his departure, and then not going out and say, getting a tribute band singer (like Journey did), AND Axl has that whole reunion thing with HIS band...everything about it is wrong to me.

No I'm saying that bands have before and after XXX all the time and you're only hearing one side to the story regarding Johnson. I have no reason to believe the band would not prefer to tour with Brian over anyone else so there must be a reason for all of this, and if you were a fan of the "band" that includes the majority of the rest of them. Axl maybe an asshat but I doubt this would be anything more than their desire to still tour so I can't see how that's a problem.

It's probably a temporary fix, once their tour obligations are over I would suspect they'd revisit the singer situation...

+ odds are axl won't hold it together for even one tour

Hearing some Frankie Paul while making this cool little coffee shop my office for the morning.

These sweet reggae rhythms can almost make me forget that I'm in Wisconsin and not in some little cafe on St. Wherever.

          Almost.

            Switching gears...

That Petrol Emotion - Seen & Unseen

Video on YouTube of a concert TV broadcast from 1988.

I was a fan back in the day. Had their first 3 albums on vinyl.

            They sound really good live.

EDIT: They kicks *** live! Never had any concert recordings (other than the live album from a few years ago) of these guys - gonna have to look around.

Meh. Didn't grab me like the first time I listened to their first one.

I clicked not expecting it would still be going, but the 'recording' is still available. Thanks!

And goddamit why can't he and Roger suck it up buttercup and get together?

I know. The last band that I want to see live, and it's still theoretically possible. Ugh.

I've read a couple of interviews with David from the past year or so and he ain't doing it.

One point he made was that it's now been over 30 years since Roger was in PF. 30 Years.

Hell, it's been 22 years since the Division Bell tour - the most recent Floyd tour.

I wish I could go back in time and see Floyd again at Camp Randall in 94. I t was the best concert I've ever been to. I wish I had seen more shows from that tour than just the one.

I'd cash in retirement money for a large scale (stadium) Floyd show like that again - especially if it included Waters. For years, I held out hope.

                      Will never happen though.

Yeah, not happening. My father is a huge Floyd fan, and passed it on to me. Bit of a curse, actually. I was too young to see any shows. Ah well.

Yeah, I've been resigned to the probability that Live 8 was the last hurrah. I get the impression that David has nothing but contempt for Roger and Roger knows he burned that bridge, but a girl can dream.

Stop Making Sense (the lp) is what sealed the deal for me.

The Name of this Band is Talking Heads is great too, but I didn't have that till much later in life.

Remain in Light is my favorite of their studio stuff.

Never liked them either at first. Saw them on some late-night show, Fridays or maybe even SNL, and they, especially Byrne were just too quirky for my New England small town upbringing. But their cover of Take Me To the River changed all that. I think Fear of Music was the first of theirs I bought, and I loved it, that denser, funkier beat, and then picked up their back catalog, and then Remain in Light when it came out. They lost me after Little Creatures though. Not quirky enough.

Name of This Band is Talking Heads is phenomenal. The show I saw them on during the Speaking in Tongues tours was, for several years, the best show I've ever seen in my life. All these years later, it's still #2.

Gurt, do you have Byrne's soundtrack to The Catherine Wheel? If you don't I highly recommend you track it down. Edit: Actually, don't. I don't think the entire thing has ever been released on cd, the cd version has tracks that are trimmed or edited. . Way back in the day, I bought the cassette version, which had the entire show in its entirety, and maybe ten years or so now, I burned a copy of that to cd. I could burn you a copy if you wanted one.

B-52s were the same way. First heard them and hated them. Year or two later, and I owned all their albums.
