I do believe they worked with the Gov. Dayton on getting this done. Did you see the man during the press conferences after the 75% rate hikes were announced? He looked like he was soiling himself on camera.

That's not the point. This is their idea. I've been waiting 6 years for their great ideas on Health Care. This IMO isn't one of them.

So a bipartisan stop-gap bill to handle the surprise of this year's price hike is now a GOP failure. Really?

much like "abortion" isn't used, but instead "choice".... advocates have to move this off "insurance" and onto "coverage". insurance needs to never be spoken again.

The French don't think so. There appears to be a public / private partnership.

                      Further research is indicated.

Australia and Britain have public and private options available too.

Still waiting for good ideas from the GOP. Jason Lewis from Minnesota is supposed to have some but after reading his OP ED and today's Counterpoint in the newspaper it's pretty obvious he has none.

                          C'mon Republicans. Let's see it.

The "private" part is 3 non-profits that help provide coverage for the 20% that doesn't. All employers are required by law to provide insurance from one of the three plans. It's not the NHS but it's not like ours.

More proof Republicans have no ideas on Health Care.

WASHINGTON — Several Republican senators on Monday proposed a partial replacement for the Affordable Care Act that would allow states to continue operating under the law if they choose, a proposal meant to appeal to critics and supporters of former President Barack Obama’s signature health law.

Under the proposal, by Senators Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, a medical doctor, and Susan Collins of Maine, a moderate Republican, states could stay with the Affordable Care Act or they could receive a similar amount of federal money, which consumers could use to pay for medical care and health insurance.

That's not an idea. That's a cop out.
