Just have the Yankees and Red Sox play 162 RS games. That would solve everything.
Why don't we just have a major league and a premier league with relegation between the two?

"The first time I went to a Cornell game, I was in awe. I'm a big believer that sports fans should get out and see everything -- the Indy 500, the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby. I've seen all that, and there's nothing like Lynah Rink." - Carl McKee, father of Cornell Goalie, David McKee

I don't know exactly how this works, but it seems like you completely kill any shot of a team doing like Tampa did a couple years ago, coming out of no where to go to the World Series. I think that would be a bad thing.

And I'm not so sure Florida would like having to spend like a Premier side. They'd be better off in League II.

Because he's only been in the majors for a relatively short time. He was stuck behind Jim Thome a long time, before the Phils realized it was time to bite the bullet and get Howard into the lineup.

Again, it's not just being stuck behind Thome. For the most part the thing was him playing college ball and not even starting minor league baseball until he was 21.

That's where it all starts re: the belief that Pujols seems older.

Well, they probably wouldn't come out of nowhere. The promotion/relegation system speaks to the origins of the leagues more than anything else. You also wouldn't see clubs settle for the basement for a reset as well.

The thing about promotion/relegation is it as much a financial system (selling and purchasing of players) as it is a team caliber regulator.
