  • Re: The 114th Congress: How Low Can They Go?

Happy Evacuation Day to all my friends in Boston and Suffolk County! We could use another Evacuation Day, this time expanded, but who would take the Tories off our hands this time? I doubt Canada wants them, or England. They could go to Somalia...that has the small government many of them claim to desire.

So, I was reading today about how the Hyde Amendment (No Federal Money for Abortions) was slipped into the Anti-Human-Trafficking bill. And both of my Democratic Senators missed it. In face one of my Senators Amy Klobuchar not only missed that it was put in but is a co-sponsor of the bill and wasn't told that it was slipped back in.

Republicans just made a huge mistake by pulling that shenanigan on such a small issue as now Democrats and their staffers will be going over every bill (should be anyway but you get the gist) with a find tooth comb.

Klobuchar will not communicate about it in the press so I'm betting she's pretty ticked off right now.

The Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. The GOP are scum but at least they know how to play the game.

Serves the dems right for giving legislators a 2000 page bill about health care and only a couple hours to read it before voting on it.

Translation: Republicans think that victims of sex trafficing should have no choice about weather or not to carry their pregnancies to term.

                        Nice.

Abortion is not the only option, although a particular organization that gets government funding seems to think it is. http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2015/03/19...n-of-abortion/

I'm sure if a similarly uncheckable anecdotal story were reversed you'd give 100% credence to it as wholly indicative of the anti-abortion movement.

Abortion is not the only option besides carrying your rapist's baby to term? The other option being....suicide?
