Here's the logical distinction that trips up most people.
"Life" begins when the first cell division occurs after a fertilized egg implants in the uterine wall. That is just basic biology.
However, "human life" does not necessarily begin until several months later, after a certain amount of specialization occurs (the transition between an undifferentiated mass of cells into actual nascent spine, heart, liver, etc.)
Since this subject can be so emotionally fraught for some people, individual experience matters. Those of us who have seen our own children in the womb during an ultrasound probably have a different visceral sense of when "human life" begins than those who have not. When you see that tiny little heart beating away, and observe the unmistakeable outline of a latent tiny little person there, it is no longer a theoretical argument.
