****, guessed wrong. He went with the "but others did it too" defense. Seriously, he said the Inquisition was ok because at least they didn't kill as many people as Lenin.
The inquisition didn't kill as many people as he has with drone strikes.

True. Though media sympathy would have plummeted.

            Buchanan takes issue with this:?

"And lest we get on our high horse ... remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ."

            What a child.

I'll say this for Pat; he's spent the last 30 years establishing the bona fides of his Onward Jesuit Soldiers drag act. In his ferocious xenophobic evangelism, at least, he is sincere.

What a tyrant, asking for permission. Rather than fabricating false evidence that gets perpetuated by the media to start a war.

It's part of Obama's constant downplaying the violence emanating from Islam and his poking at Christianity. This isn't anything really new or outrageous by Obama's standards, although doing it at an event like the National Prayer Breakfast was certainly in poor taste.

Obama must know more than I do. This seems like a two front mistake. I think we have our hands full managing the Russia/China situation. And actively participating in another campaign weakens our hand with them.

In addition, to not doing this...I would throw a charm offensive on China and thereby isolate Russia. We can always get tough on China in 5 years when our hand is so strong that Russia is pretty much by themselves. Taking on Isis just seems like we're heading in the wrong direction.

Russia is already isolated-ish. China's economic bonds to America are so strong, and our bonds held by China could become a lot of meaningless paper if war between the two nations ever came to pass.

While China is known to maintain a relationship with Russia, the Chinese have the upper hand there as Russia doesn't have many large or rich friends anymore, and they need them. Meanwhile, China likes Russian oil, but China always has many other options to get its oild, and even uses them currently.

Not enough. If you can get rid of ISIS...there will be another. When large groups of radicals are involved, kicking the hornets nest does little good (we should have learned this in Vietnam). The goal is to find the drivers of these groups and attack participation. Russia is a different matter altogether. Putin is a dictator...but the bonds of democracy and capitalism that have been built up in the country are eroding daily. China is critical for the Russian dictator psyche...without China, its easy for Russia to question itself as they are truly alone. You always fix your biggest problem (right now Russia) and you fix it well. IMHO.
