Nobody has the political will to go after anything as large as Russia. It'd be too expensive, and likely lead us into another economic recession. Obama and those who support this war want small wars that still make them look tough while creating as little economic risk as possible.

OK, by whose standards is Obama's statement "new or outrageous?"

        You missed the word "isn't"

Even when I say something easing angst about Obama by saying it's just another day for him, I get complaints!

Because talking about historically accurate events is an outrage. We covered this already.

Just remember, with the Crusades, the Muslims were gathering up land, and had pretty much done so since the Roman Empire began its fall. Getting those back warranted the Crusades. Plus, according to a Catholic study, more people have been killed in drone strikes under Obama's regime than the entire Spanish Inquisition.

The Russia situation is way too large to future US global interests to ignore (frankly the direct costs to the US will be huge if we don't address it now). It affects all of Europe (our largest trading partner and ally), military budgets going into the distant future, and negative global economic impacts due to loaded emotions.

That's kind of the point of what I've been saying. In the end, we don't have to do anything to take action. Just upgrade the relations with China and Russia is isolated.

In fact, this sort of ISIS action feels the same as the unjustifiable Iraq action that has very narrow/few apparent national interests, has high financial (and potential life) costs, and seems arbitrarily unilateral...so that it almost smacks of special interest influence in Washington.

That's because complaining about him is raaaaaaaa-cist.

Of course I omitted it. By saying it isn't outrageous by Obama's standards you imply that it is by other people's standards.

When person says such and such by a given person's standards, that is saying nothing about any other person's standards, only the person being discussed. But, I know you're trying to nitpick a hole in what I said. Not gonna fall for it. Really not one of your better efforts.

Not biased at all, I'm sure. The Church would still have published the study if it had proven that more had been killed by an Inquisition they were responsible for.

The Church's report on the Spanish Inquisition was independent of the drone strikes, actually.

The Secret Archives are a treasure trove of what actually happened during the Inquisition.

On the latter, it's in your head. You've got an idée fixe that Obama is a secular elitist who runs down the poor Christian victims every chance he gets, and you grab onto every righty meme reinforcing that narrative. In the world where the sky is blue (well, gray today, ironically) Obama seems like a typical educated American Christian who also knows a thing or two about history.

Being told a fact isn't being oppressed, Bob.
