No I do, that's the irony, but there's something about just watching a movie when it randomly happens to be on TV.

I have never actually watched the Godfather. Is it good?

Great movie, obvious "US western" style movie. Granted, this is in hindsight, since this movie was from 1962 or so, but many of the shots were very familiar. Plot basically is a lone samurai (technically a ronin) really turns up the heat between two warring factions in a town. Intelligent plot development, some good action, a couple twists of course, and really shot well.

I'm very happy so far watching Akira Kurosawa's movies. I think the next one of his I'm tackling is The Seven Samurai, but that being 3+ hours long, that's a weekend showing for sure.

Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

i bought it on Ebay for 10.

Went and saw Ironman 2 Thursday. Clearly, its not Shakesphere, but it delievers on what its suppost to be, an action comedy for Marvel fanboys. Seemed to me they stayed pretty true to most of the Ironman canon, and put together a pretty good action movie. Rothman was great as Justin Hammer, the swarmy second fiddle to Stark, who could never quite best him no matter how much he wanted to.

and just an FYI, and not to Spoil anything, be sure to stick around for after the credits.

I liked the movie quite a bit. I thought the last battle scene was a little blah with the way they ended the fight....but it was pretty good.

I didn't mind waiting for scenes after the credits when they did like 2 minutes of credits and then showed the scene, but now that we have to wait to see who was RDJ's hairstylists, hairstylists, hairstylist during the monaco shoot....its not worth the wait.

Yeah...I prefer when they do the scene after the first wave of credits since credits now are longer than the friggin previews. This scene did nothing but tell what most of us already knew, which Marvel movie comes next in the series. The scenes at the end of IM1 and Incredible Hulk were much better and worth the wait.

Anyone see YOUTH-IN-REVOLT with Michael Cera?

Just curious as it was shot on our campsite, in Northern Michigan and we actually had to move our camper off our permanent camp site so they could build their set. The state Of Michigan had a 40% tax credit for movie studios and this was one of the movies. I see it is coming out on DVD June 15.

Messed up. Made me laugh, though.

I have never actually seen any of the Godfather movies. Though I have a general idea of what they are about.

When you say Northern Michigan, do you mean actual Northern Michigan or that bull**** Northern Michigan that trolls use to describe the area south of the Mackinac Bridge because they don't know geography?

For whatever reason the folks making the Iron Man sequel put together the kind of script that has led to disaster every other time it has been tried in a Super Hero film. And they pulled it off. Nice job, and nice to have another Marvel movie worth watching.

What do you mean by this? I'm not really up on super hero movies and generally don't make it a point to watch them (besides the batman ones), so I'm not sure what this disaster script is that you mention.

(I'm actually being serious, I'm curious about it, now that you've brought it up)

The 'throw too much crap at the wall and see what sticks' disaster. Think Spiderman 3, or Batman and Robin for the prototypes of said disaster.

Yeah but the difference is that none of the storylines in this movie went anywhere. They had no real big bad again so you can do lots of stories without it getting in the way. The movie is good because none of the storylines are real big, they are all secondary stories.

They have a real problem come the third movie since the only real villain they have left is Mandarin and that is quite a big story. Since IM3 wont be coming out supposedly until after the Avengers that is going to be hard to do any set up for. Maybe instead of the misplaced "I hate my father" (which was ridiculously forced and made no sense) storyline in this one they should have put in some lead up to Mandarin.
