It was certainly a very creative approach to what is already a very well worn story. Think about how many times you've seen alien invasion stories and never once thought about the likelihood that they'd have had a disease outbreak while the bulk of their civilization was crammed into a ship. It was almost disappointing to see it devolve into an action movie at the end, but it was still a very good movie.
Some of the extras on D9 are pretty interesting. Especially the one about how all the main characters dialog was basically improved, as opposed to scripted.

      Is Sherlock worth $7?

Haven't seen it yet...bored with the NFL playoffs and was thinking of going to a 9pm showing here with tomorrow off.

I thought it was worth the $6 I paid for it. Its no masterpiece, but I was entertained.

          Ditto. Just don't expect much.

OTOH, I couldn't possibly have expected as little as Daybreakers delivered. Cliche, boring, mind-numbingly stupid. Clean F.

from a directing standpoint I agree The Strangers had merit but I didn't get the same tension you did, I found myself in disbelief regarding the repetitive terrible decisons made by the couple. I know something like tying your shoes is hard if there is enough stress but there were too many bad decisions for me to feel the same agony....might have just been my mood, or expectation, I wish it had grabbed me more than it did.

              Appaloosa:

Your standard good guys/bad guys and a love interest western, but it was well done. Well, it was well done despite the fact I wanted to punch Renee Zellwegger every time I saw her on screen. She just needs to go away and never come back, she's so *ing distracting.

Ed Harris rules, and Viggo does a fine job as well.

Better than I thought it'd be, although I was only expecting a very average movie.

Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Ed Burns does rule, so does Ed Harris who was actually IN that movie

That movie sucked though...I nearly fell asleep from boredom.

My bad. I was still visualizing punching Renee in the face.

It was no Tombstone, but I can see where you thought it was boring.

Ok I am halfway through King of Kong and wow I thought I knew some nerds! So far the highlight is the look on the ********* Brian Kuhs face when Wiebe gets the kill screen. This schmuck is 30 years old, retired so he could spend his days at Funspot playing games in hopes of being the next Bill Mitchell and to see his hopes dashed made me smile!

Oh and Mitchell is an A#1 JERKOFF!

Great use of "You're The Best Around" from the Karate Kid though

Great movie. Being a not-so-talented old school arcade guy, that movie really blew me away.

Geez and I thought it was impressive when a guy I knew got the top score on Galaga at my old job...

Billy Mitchell and his little cadre should all be assassinated. When he showed up for "Dodge City" and Steve said hello and he just walked by and said "There are some people I would rather not spend too much time around" and then ducked him when he showed up at Billys restaurant I wanted to reach through my computer and choke the living daylights out of him!

The end is great though...Seth Gordon and everyone involved in this film should get every award possible...one of the best documentaries I have ever seen!

Honestly, if you haven't seen it, I wouldn't bother.

I watched one scene...my buddy said it would convince me to watch the rest...as I said I watched one scene!

I just watched Harvard Beat Yale 29-29...it was ok, rather boring to be honest until the last 10 minutes. The interviews were kinda lame and sometimes seemed to have nothing to do with any of the footage they showed. Plus Tommy Lee Jones seemed like he was bored talking about it, he showed no emotion whatsoever even when he talked about walking back to the lockerroom for the first time.

Maybe it is because I don't much care about Harvard or Yale, or the fact that the game in reality meant nothing since it was the last game of the season for both teams but I never really got into it.

I guess I liked the old footage. I think the non-football stuff was to show how a team puts aside their differences (especially in that era of war and politics) to function as one. I mean, there was really no in-between back then; look at all the protests and such.

And when does Tommy Lee Jones ever show emotion?
