  • It's a ******** worst 10. If you're going to go with the less obvious for best 10 (or at the very least pick movies that gained recognition for something other than ticket sales), why not pick movies for the worst 10 that no one would have ever pre-judged as being good in the first place? Wow, you mean Wolverine sucked? Who wouldn't have guessed that before it was even released?

Of the 20 films listed, I've only seen one - the Transformers movie. I don't get to the theater much anymore.
I only saw a couple on the top 10...haven't heard of most of them...saw a majority of the worst 10. I don't like the list.

Yes from a cinematic standpoint...Year One was awful, Transformers was lame..etc etc. But if you look at the movies for what they are supposed to be...they aren't that bad. Year One wasn't meant to be a cinematic masterpiece. It was meant to be a stupid comedy and as far as those go it was way better than any of those lame *** parody movies, aka "Meet the Spartans, Dance Flick." Transformers was supposed to be an action packed CGI alien robot movie...it wasn't as good as the first one, but despite robot heaven scene wasn't horrific.

See, this is the point the reviewer made before giving the list. We're settling for one-trick ponies, eye candy without substance because of what the movie was "meant to be." I agree with his premise, but, due to my limited movie watching as of late, I can't speak to the list specifically.
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." George Orwell, 1984

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir

"Good news! We have a delivery." Professor Farnsworth

I guess the way I look at it....would you say European Vacation was a top ten movie of 1985...maybe (I don't know what else was out that year.) I"m not saying that Year One is in the same league as those movies, but all of those movies, Planes, Trains & automobiles....were meant to be stupid comedies...and thats waht they were. We don't have actors in the caliber of Akroyd, Chase and Candy to make the movies as good these days.

That seems like i just rambled for 5 minutes...but I hope my point is clearer?

          • Star Trek - liked it far more than I thought I would.

Hangover - good but not epic.

            Wolverine - I don't get the hate.

Watching the Hangover later tonight. I have the same expectations as your view: good, but it won't be super awesome great.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Naw, my thing is the score thread. My computer does funny things when I try and do the chat and have other tabs open.

The hate comes from the fanboys who are mad as hell at how badly they butchered the backstory to Wolverine. That and they want us to believe that Wolverine can survive all of the insane stuff that he does but yet can still have his brains scrambled by an antimatium bullet??

Well... at one point in the comics Wolverine did regenerate from just his metal skeleton, because somehow organic molecules inside the sealed metal were able to leak out. Wolverine is a character so fanwanked by the authors that he's irredeemable.

I still haven't seen that movie, but every part about it looks terrible.

It's a friggin comic book, aren't you required to suspend belief from day 1? I mean I guess if you're a fanboy there might me more to it than that, but if that's it.....

Reading any fictional story requires suspension of disbelief. Comic books by themselves are not a lesser story telling medium merely because they use pictures to show scenes instead of words. Comics usually go to the nth degree though, and work purely off the "rule of cool", in that if it's cool enough, it doesn't matter how insane it is.

Wolverine just looked stupid that is where half the hate came from...then add in the anal retentive fanboys who whine about everything and you have a recipe for disaster

It is proportional some fans can take the idea of Wolverine having claws prior to having his adamantium skeleton and a healing factor off the charts. Even they take a step back when Wolverine is so amazing he can be hit with a bomb and disintegrate down to nearly nothing but regen back or have Hulk rip him in half and throw him in space and have him survive

Then the same fans will cry cause his hair isn't styled the right way or the shade of yellow they used in his uniform WAS A MIZCARRAGE OF JUZTICE!!!11!!1!1 It is a wonderful dichotomy
