After four first period penalties by the US, it's 1-1 after 1. US scored on a power play of their own with 20 seconds to go in the period.

Kazakhstan ties it at 3 with 6 minutes left.

Two US defenseman couldn''t clear the puck and Kazakhstan wristed it into the open half of the net.

Going to OT. Crowd erupts like it was a Belarus win, unless a lot of Kazakhs (is this the correct term? It's bothering me I don't know it) make the trip.

Seth Jones gets the game winner a minute into OT. US takes 2 points.

That's almost as bad as the time our Junior National Team lost to ICELAND.

Oh wait. That was in a movie.

              Nevermind.

                    It's always held in Eurasia.

Only thing I have about Thomas is play frequency... Given his age I'm not comfortable about running him out there unless he's worth that much more than leggio or helly

USA Hockey never puts in a bid. Wish they would though.

Oops - guess I need to turn in my Canadian flag. I'm still trying to forget the OT loss to Ovie's boys.

Last time the US hosted was 1962, when it was played in Colorado Springs and Denver

And that was the last time it was hosted in North America before 2008.
