Well, I'm impressed and awarding you full both ears and the tail.

In SCOTUS news, deciding by not deciding. People are now free to marry in Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. When a position is too troglodytic for Oklahoma and Utah... um... I guess Mississippi is left?

Because the most conservative Court in 75 years is "liberal," yes.

What the SCOTUS non-ruling tells me is that even Roberts and Kennedy recognize that gay rights can't be used as a wedge issue nationally anymore; they are now securely under the purview of basic human rights under a 6-3 majority (Scalia, Alito and Thomas are sticking with religious, rather than Constitutional, grounds to oppose it). Because the Court has become such a political tool Roberts is choosing not to just come out and write the obvious Loving v. Virginia decision -- the regional GOP can still squeeze a little more juice out of this issue in a few peripheral places and the majority wants to keep the GOP 2016 prospects alive since they know a Hillary win condemns them to writing angry dissents for another generation. When a future liberal majority writes the decision striking down bans in all states then the GOP can raise $$$ on it forever, a la Roe v Wade.

Just because you say that each time after they make a liberal decision doesn't make it true. Though admittedly you're correct in your inference that the court has been generally liberal, so one might have to go back 75 years to find much conservatism going on there.

And, since it consists of Louisana, Texas, and Mississippi, it's got plenty of people likely to uphold a ban.

A contractual agreement between two people.

I agree, not hard at all.

It's the process of choosing a person who is a (hopefully) non-blood relation, this will be the person who gets to decide when to pull your plug once you're in a vegetative state.
