    {I'll say this for the GOP -- they would never be bullied into voting against their (juvenile, simplistic, ethically questionable) principles. It even took the Dems to save Dubya's bacon on TARP.}

    Dems like Hillary understood that PNAC always had the Iraq war on the drawing board and were just waiting for any pretext, but she didn't have the courage to vote no and deal with the "these colors don't run" herpa-derpism. Plenty of her Dem colleagues share the same guilt.

    The GOP was Sandusky, but the Dems were Paterno.
    Courageous my a*s! That nutty old bag was evidently waiting for the Japs to show up at the Missoula state fair. It isn't "courage" to vote against a declaration of war against a state that has just killed nearly 3,000 Americans, it's dementia.

      I'm sorry but I'm tired of seeing my generation fight and die or be physically destroyed or mentally destroyed AGAIN for people that, by and large, do not want us there. Is this some kind of baby boomer revenge for Vietnam? Like, you guys got *ed up, couldn't stick it to Gen X so let's stick it to Gen Y?
      Somebody has obviously already stuck it to you. Punishing the sons of people who disagree with you is pretty much peacenik par. And denying that's what you're advocating is also peacenik par.

              As with everything, your mileage may vary, these are tendencies not rigid typologies, your sweet Auntie who votes straight ticket GOP is not implicated, etc. And as with everything, no doubt there are comparable monsters lurking on the other side of the spectrum.
              Naturally. Those who disagree with you are "reactionaries." And their sons should be placed in harms way. Got it. I'll give you credit for this: you tenaciously cling to your prejudices. Like the bumper sticker said: "They'll get my prejudices out of my cold dead fingers."

                The reference to "the Japs" should have clarified it, even for you.

                  Pulling a quote from Miss Rankin, "As a woman I can't go to war," she said, "and I refuse to send anyone else." She had to be escorted out of the Capitol after casting her lone dissent, a gang of men were following her because of her vote and she hid in a telephone booth to place a call to request the escort.

                      The fact that you can't see the problem speaks volumes about your state of mind. That's ever so chivalous of those gentlemen, to torment a single lady like that, don't you think?

                      She cast a lone vote of dissent. It meant nothing in the grand scheme of things, but people like you get frothing at the mouth and are willing to harrass a woman because she didn't do what the men told her to do. Stay classy, Old Pio.

                        I'm not saying to punish the sons of those who disagree with me. I'm saying that if their sons were put on an equal footing as everybody else's, they probably wouldn't be beating the war drums.

                        And no I'm not a peacenik. I understand and will advocate the use of force in justifiable cases. This case, not being a justifiable one.

                            Yup, clearly he has something against America appearing as being something other than homogenous of thought. Our mindful purity is of the utmost importance! Never mind that the nation's citizens weren't 100% in favor of war with them thar Japs, we had to make it look that way at least!

                              The GOP and their enablers have fought equality under the law for a century on religion, race, gender and sexual preference. What makes you think the light's going to go on now when it comes to their favorite group to shield, the wealthy?

                                This is something that goes beyond the GOP and centuries. But I'm just making point that I'm not advocating that the rich be forced to send their kids first. But apparently equality = bloodthirsty on those who disagree with me.
