Sydney Leroux apparently announced she's dating Sporting KC forward Dom Dwyer.

It took the soccer media two minutes to have their future kids making the World Cup roster in 20 years...

Premature, but not surprising. One of the goalies from Cornell's men's hockey team ~10-15 years ago is married to one of the goalies from the women's team from the same time period, and fans have been wishcasting their kids to be a generation of supergoalies ever since.

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."

Good question, Dwyer is English, Leroux is Canadian and American.

            But they all assumed American.

Playing for England would suck. All that expectation without any actual results to justify them.

When did England last win an international team competition in any sport?

They won the ICC World Twenty in 2010.

They won the Rugby World Cup in 2003.

They'd have a mountain to climb if they played for England because Platini and Blatter's kids would be screwing them over.

You guys need to look at it from the Canadian angle:

A boy, he'll find new and interesting ways to not qualify for the World Cup.

A girl, she'll find new and interesting ways to lose to the US in the knockout rounds...

The Canadian angle is actually: that kind of athletic genes would make one heck of a two-sport star in hockey and lacrosse.

                          True.

Or, if he sticks with soccer, he'll remember at 15 he has English citizenship and be off to spend the next 15 years wondering if he'll make England's bench.

I knew they had not won a cricket World Cup (and they won't win it in January, either). And I'd forgotten about Rugby.
