For some reason your comment brought to mind a Women's World Cup in which all the players are wearing burkas....

Speaking of the women's world cup....

Thirteen U.S. senators have signed letters to U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati and FIFA president Sepp Blatter urging them to support the use of natural grass fields at next year’s Women’s World Cup in Canada, SI.com has learned.

          It gets even better. http://screamer.deadspin.com/report-...20284/+Tom_Ley

The Guardian found North Korean construction workers at four different construction sites in Lusail City, where the 2022 World Cup final will be held. The workers were apparently sent to Qatar, where they work without pay, through a North Korean government program that promises to pay them in their native currency once they return home. But workers and other defectors familiar with these kinds of programs say the workers will be lucky to receive a fraction of the money they were promised

Ha. I was hoping they'd decide to try to blow up the opulent Qatari stadiums instead of fighting for pieces of Syria and Iraq. However, FIFA would still think it's a better choice than us or England.

Roster out for games against Colombia and Ireland.

Lee Nguyen gets a call. No Dempsey (thank you Klinsmann, trying to win a treble here) bur Yedlin gets a call (* you Klinsmann, trying to win a treble here!).

So Seattle advances on away goals and now there is plenty of talk about the rule and how terrible it is that Seattle advanced without winning a game.

Now, there is some legitimate points being raised but, I feel a lot of this talk is happening because Seattle advanced. A lot of the complaining wouldn't be going on if Dallas had advanced.

It's not thinking everybody's conspiring against us, it's that people are *ing about the away goals rule and I just think there would less *ing if Seattle hadn't advanced.

People complain about the away goals rule every single time a team advances with a draw at home and a higher-scoring draw on the road. Then everyone says "it's still better than penalties" and the conversation ends. Sorry to break it to you, but it's not all about you.
