Notice how all the host countries from the turn of the century onward have to undertake all these massive construction projects?

Except for Germany '06, there was '02 South Korea / Japan, '10 South Africa, '14 Brazil, '18 Russia, '22 Qatar....
You can lump England into that category as well. They've got dozens of stadiums to choose from. Also, they're probably still quite cranky after the BBC and some of the papers destroyed them and broke the corruption scandals wide open.

This is the Panorama report. I know one of the big papers did a huge story as well.

They represent World Cup titles. Argentina has two, 1978 and 1986, so two stars. Brazil has five (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002), Italy has four (1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006) but puts them in their crest. Germany has three (1954, 1974, 1990). Spain (2010), England (1966), and France (1998) each have one. Uruguay has two titles (1930 and 1950) but puts four stars because they won the Olympics in 1924 and 1928.

I know that. But I did not see the stars on their kit. You can't miss them on Brazil's or France's

I know it's juvenile, but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this Cristiano Ronaldo gif:

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."

Canned music is a pathetic waste of your time.

I've noticed that the Brazilian women's team's jerseys feature the five stars of the men's team. Can you imagine how incredulous people would be if the US Men had the two stars from the Women on their jersey? (I'm guessing that the Brazilian women have the stars because women's soccer has practically zero support in Brazil, so they probably just refused to spend the money on getting the women their own jerseys)
