Tried the Dragon's Milk Chili tonight. It's....hmmm....still not sure.

    Pros:
You get the flavor of the DM, and the chili flavor sneaks up on you, like someone who snuck in the back door to your party. You don't notice it at first, then it's "wow, hey, you made it!"

The heat is not overpowering at all, but it sticks with you.

I like the heat, but still undecided if I want it in my beer.

    Cons:

Given the third "pro" note, to expand, not certain if I want that heat in something like Dragon's Milk. However, the heat being in a lesser beer might ruin the chili style for me.

In the future, a pint would be enough for me, don't need the whole bomber.

All in all, worth buying and giving it a whirl, especially if it's your first chili beer.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

      Ten Fiddy >> Rasputin

And this isn't me just kicking up dirt. Rasputin is good but it's vastly overrated.

Given this review, I am suggesting not trying Indeed's Hot Box. It is a chili flavor that hits you early and hits you hard. I liked it, but I can see why some wouldn't.

And for the record, I am a habanero guy, not a jalapeno guy. This is for reference. I haven't had the Hot Box yet, but now I might give it a whirl, just for gits and shiggles.

I have to stop reading the Drinking thread during work. It just makes me want a beer.

Picked up some Founder's Old Curmudgeon tonight. Forgot how good it is. It's old ale brewed with molasses and oak barrel aged.

So the boy is having 20 or so classmates over for a party tonight. Had to move the entire bar, glass shelves and all into the back room. Also the fridge contents and the red wines that are under the counter. MAJOR operation.

                  As to what I'm drinking...

I brought up Cruzan Aged (Gold), Bushmills and Kirk & Sweeney and a couple of Cokes.

Should see me through the night.

Oh yeah, put a new doorknob on the back room door complete with a key. At least I'm making it a challenge for them.

6er of Premo. Slightly wishing I had opted for Nordeast.

Surprised to see it's brewed and bottled by Schell's.

House is bumpin and they're having a great time.

I've stuck to the Cruzan and I have to say (and am reminded that), this is a solid rum at it's price point. First brought it back from St. Thomas through the duty free as it's distilled in St. Croix and would say it's far superior to Bacardi and is actually cheaper.

I know that none of you like Bacardi, but that said, this is a really good macro rum.

The Grain Belt brand was going to die off, and Schell's saved it. There was much speculation about Schell's changing the recipe, etc, and the brewery assured everyone that nothing was going to change. Promise upheld, and the Premo lives on.

Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised at a huge protest/grassroots thing had Schell's changed anything about the Premo recipe. It was big news at the time.

It has that nice, slightly sour aftertaste you find in some lagers. Kind of like it, although it also takes a bit getting used to.
