It was game 3. He did the pregame warmups, took one shot then left the ice. Ben Smith was not suited up for warmups but had to play anyway because Hossa removed himself. I have not heard that anyone told Hossa he couldn't play. Everything I have heard is that Hossa pulled himself out - otherwise why not at least have Smith warm up before the game.

Shifting gears, there was an interesting vignette with Scotty Bowman after the game Monday. He mentioned that we won his first Cup (out of 13, 9 as coach) at age 39, and his son Stan is the same age now as he was then, and Stan has two.

Depressing? Life goes on and the guy still has a ring at last count.

I think it's wonderful. I bet his daughter thought so too.

    **** on the haters.

Thankfully, there was no game 7.

Looks like the Lightning are going to buy out Vinny LeCavalier.

Before he played game 6, Bergeron essentially had a nerve in his chest frozen so he would not feel the broken rib. That's why they didn't know he had punctured his lung. Speculation was that the needle caused the lung puncture, but that is not the case because the hole would have been bigger if caused by the needle. One has to wonder how big that needle was. As I understand it, the punctured lung was only discovered because he checked into the hospital. They just speculated (and all we can do is speculate) on Boston radio that if there was a Game 7 it could have been fatal because that hole in his lung would likely not have been found and Bergeron would have insisted on playing. One good hit and that would have been it.

That's the line, but it's just a line. The guy collected Nazi memorabilia. It's hardly the same thing.

It was Bergeron. Now we have found out he has been in hospital since the end of game 6. Had the Bruins won Monday night, would he have checked in to the hospital? Would he have tried to play tonight with everything that is wrong? How many games can a person play with a broken rib and a freakin' hole in your lung before you tempt fate a little too much? Not to be melodramatic, but Bergeron's career or even his life may have been saved by that collapse in game 6. I shudder to think of him trying to go tonight in a game 7.
