That was a jab at Obama's supposed "socialist ideals" using the language of the old Marxists of the Cold War era.

That's cool, but you really shouldn't get Opie/Fishy/Flaggys hopes up like that.

Or, to put it in a different way, if I was offering tornado insurance, and only people in Oklahoma signed up, there is a good possibility I'd go bankrupt. I need people in Alaska and Hawaii to sign up to offset the costs. But, if there are little or no tornadoes in Alaska and Hawaii, why should the good folks of the 49th and 50th states sign up for tornado insurance?
Then they'll pay the penalty whereas before they'd pay nothing. You want to find an unfunded program then start looking at Medicare Prescription "D". This one isn't it.

I'm assuming that everyone who posts here watches sports.

How is it that some people here are asking us to believe that no one on the team they support ever makes a bad play, and no one on the other team ever makes a good play?

How lucky for you that your team never once has a bad game and none of their players ever do anything wrong!

Now, some people might think such a viewpoint would also make you seriously deranged.....

Who's saying that Fishy? This wouldn't be a 'straw man' argument, would it?

Because for a lot of people politics are held as closely to the chest as their religion. If that person's on their side, they'll find all sort of logical machinations to justify some bad decisions made.

And when they can't find a logical explanation, they'll make up their own logic, despite fallacies, and call you names if you don't believe.

So now I'm hearing 90 to 120 million won't be able to keep their insurance, thats a few more than folks who buy their insurance outright. Looks like company plans are now going under the knife. I guess if you like your plan you won't be able to keep it PERIOD. Whats Obamas approval rating now? 30%,
I swear there ain't no heaven but I pray there ain't no hell.

Ummm.....don't companies change their policies all the time anyway, and had done so long before the ACA went into effect? I'm pretty sure I remember that happening every year for...oh, since I joined the work force 20 years ago...

Wasn't Obama making his statement in the context of the ACA? Isn't this like you blaming Obama if your employer went out of business, and therefore stopped being able to offer health insurance?

Jesus I hate the ACA but even I acknowledge you have to give it a little time to see if it works. You know things normalize after a while sometimes if you just give them more than 2 seconds to do so...

And I repeat, I have hated the ACA since the day it was put forth. (if I wanted Bob Dole's plan from 1996 I would have voted Republican) If only people pretended to care this much when we were lied to previously maybe thousands of lives wouldnt have been lost in pointless wars and our vets wouldnt be getting bent over a barrel.

Jay Carney is that you He said, if you like your current plan, you can keep it, PERIOD. That seems pretty simple, even a drunken BU grad should understand it
