Why, again, are we lifting Iglesias for defensive purposes?

Well, Mr. Rondon, if we're going to get the jitters of pitching in Yankee Stadium out of the way, I suppose this is the time to do it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition
The Yankees are quickly approaching irrelevance as far as contention goes. They're about where they were in the mid-to-late 60's. Yogi was gone, Ford was on his way out the door, and Mantle was also at the end. Here, Posada and Bernie Williams are long gone, Rivera and Pettitte are probably done come October (Rivera for sure, of course), and Jeter is on his last legs. In each case, the players aren't there behind them to provide a new core, Cano exempted, and he can walk after this season.
Funny how during what most consider to be the "Golden Age of Baseball", the late 40's to the early 60's, the Yankees went to 15 Series in 18 seasons, I believe, between 1947-1964. Don't hear much squawking about that.
Meanwhile, if we continue to swing at that curve ball about a foot off the plate, the strike zone isn't going to matter.Last edited by Hammer; 08-09-2013, 09:23 PM.

I'm surprised he didn't get heaved.
Apparently Scherzer got ejected.
