Comerica Park opened in 2000. Tiger Stadium closed after the 1999 season.

Strike zone tonight at least three inches wider than usual. mostly outside. seems to be the same for both teams and doesn't matter lefty or righty.

not my favorite deal with a rookie in there who is wild.

You know, people can boo all they want about Victorino trying to throw guys out at 1st from right field, but these plays are closer than many realize.

Didn't know that was an "unwritten" rule. I generally like to follow all those types of rules, but come on, if you're too lazy to outrun a ball hit to the outfield then you deserve to get thrown out.

That's my only beef with Cabrera. Rod Allen calls him one of the smartest base runners in the game, which he is, but he's also one of the laziest. Very rarely is there a close play at first with him, he's the king of the jog-it-out ground ball.

Great game tonight. Scherzer is getting more run support than anyone else (.5 runs more than Verlander, about a full run more than Sanchez and Fister), but he's also making sure not to waste it.

                This. A thousand times, this.

                This, too.

I don't think it's an unwritten rule, it's just that people aren't used to seeing a right fielder throw a runner out at 1st.

Doubront struggling early. Let's not go fishing here, Miggy.

Miggy goes Miggy, but not full-on Miggy. Missile to dead center for a ground-rule double.

                    75 RBI for Miggy now.

Hell of a play by Ellsbury. I thought we had another one there.

Martinez is 6-2. He wouldn't have caught Infante's throw if he was 7-2.

~110 pitches from Verlander to get through 5. *shakes head*

4-3 Red Sox, mid-5. It's going to be a long game.

I'm beginning to think that it might be a good idea to skip Verlander for his next start or two. All the pitches he's thrown over the past 3 years, its got to be wearing on him some.
