Um, you do realize that person following the logic that you and Scooby just articulated could just as easily argue that by sterilizing young women, we'd save even more money, right?

With today's arthroscopic surgery techniques, for a few hundred dollars once, we'd save lots of money: no need for on-going birth control expenses, and even fewer pregnancies still. Even if birth control pills are $9 per month without insurance, that's $108 per year, or over $2,000. Also, birth control pills are not 100% effective, while sterilization is much more certain.

C'mon guys, do you even try to think things through to their conclusions before you have an emotional outburst that the rest of us have to put up with?

Most of the time you both do much better than this. I'm disappointed, are your standards slipping?

In response to a diminishing number of requests, one last weather report: We had more rain in Phoenix last night than there was in Charlotte.

And whether you like it or not, libs, your party's philosophical inspiration is now Cynthia McKinney. Remember what her father said when he was asked why she'd lost? "J-e-w-s."

It's hard to imagine a party that's home to so many Jews would be, in a very real sense, so anti-Semitic. And the anti-Semitism in black America is especially hard to fathom, given that Jews participated in and died for (Schwerner and Goodman in Neshoba County, Mississippi to name two) the cause of civil rights. Yet both reverands, among others (leaving out for the moment Calyopso Louis) have uttered, repeatedly, the worst sorts of slurs against Jews. They've said it publicly. And Democrats simply don't have the courage to at least tell them to shut the eff up. The platform kerfuffle is merely the latest manifestation. Sooner or later they'll get around to including extensive quotes from "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" in some future platform. It's sad, really.

The thing is, even when he was calling you an ignorant POS you had to laugh it was worded in such a clever way

I don't know about that; Pio is pretty entertaining if you read his angrier posts in the tone of a raging drunk.

EDIT: I thought phil dupree was a Duluth fan?

When dupree and Nate91b talked hockey it was even better. He would go off on rants about how teams like the Gophers were a bunch of Nancies and hard hitting teams like his MTU Huskies (back then they were lucky to win 3 WCHA games) were what real hockey was. It was fun

For the record, no matter how much Kepler and his "We Are Smarter than You all" Dem wing and Glenn Beck and his "We Have to Protect Israel At All Costs So Jesus Wont Cry" wing want to believe it, America will never abandon Israel. The fallout from such a move would cause a chaos unlike you have seen in some time...and I am not talking in the MidEast, I am talking here on the homefront. It would be political suicide for which ever party made the decision. If the Dems did it all those Jewish celebs would take their millions and spend it on more trips to the French Riviera and if the GOP did it then not only would the Evangelicals walk away over the idea of allowing the Holy Land to fall but all those wonderful bankers on Wall Street that spend the high holidays at Temple Bet I Got More Shekels Than You Do will walk away. (do you think anyone will accuse me of being Anti-Semitic...I have been accused of being in the KKK before )

Then, within days of the US walking away there would be Civil War in the MidEast, and all it would take is CNN to show one school being blown up or one child being shot in a square and BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE! But hey, Europe would be happy..."The Less Jews the Better" has been their platform since Medieval Times

So lets just drop it ok. It will not happen...

OT: Now that Betty White's modest career has been successfully resurrected for the 3rd or 4th time, I really wish people would stop bringing her up whenever a speaker or host is needed for some event.

    Thankfully!

I like Clint. Unforgiven remains one of my all time favorite movies. Love William Munny's arc and Clint plays it so well. From befuddled to the point that it seems that the stories must be overstatements to "William Munny out of Missouri. Killer of women and children." A bad, bad, cold hearted demon in human form. Incredible.

But that "performance" at the convention was unfortunate.

Not that I care. Love the art, not the artist.
