My favorite part about this Patrick speech?

It has the EXACT same tone as Christie's speech and will be treated completely different by the guys who are paid to analyze them. Opposite and equal reactions on either side of the aisle. Angry and more about the guy speaking than the guy for whom he's stumping.

So, who has had more botox injections: Lilly Ledbetter or Nancy Pelosi?

    Hmmmm.....

Although it's a gas giant, Kepler-47c is in the habitable zone of its binary star system and hints that smaller rockier worlds could also be in two-star systems' habitable zones.

The convention is off to a bang.

A couple of pretty good speakers. Tammy Duckworth, wounded veteran, was really great.

It would be an interesting trivia question, however: what's the record number of presidents in attendance at one convention? Including future presidents, of course (Clint's still got a shot in 2016). I would guess it is held by a 19th century convention, since nobody ever avoided those booze-ups.

The Lorax is too busy calling for the end of the Electoral College, which is probably enough to ensure its continuation for the next hundred years.

Generally VP's are not invited. As to 41 and 43, the media focus would have been on 43, not on Romney. Since conventions are about the messaging the message, you need R&R in the front, not 41 and son.

Another interesting thing about the conventions. The Democratic Convention will have appearances by presidents on every night (Carter on tape tonight, Clinton as a headliner tomorrow, and then Obama Thursday). The RNC had zippo, with Junior banned as poison and Senior I guess guilty by association.

I had never heard of this guy, but apparently he's one of the Great Brown Hopes floating around for both parties. A future where Texas gets taken off the table for the GOP is a future that's pretty grim for them.

I can't believe some knuckledraggers are actually out here defending the Eastwood bit? Yikes. When the "story" coming out of your convention is some ancient geezer rambling on about nothing, and its not John McCain, that's an EPIC FAIL as the kids say these days.

Anyway, any righties want to say they feel better about the election after the RNC? Funny how Romney was supposed to take off after he clinched the nomination....then after the convention....now its after the debates! Some biased media. They're still trying to talk him up. How about people just don't like the dude?

Good analysis of bounces. Executive summary: Romney got a 3-point bounce which is very low, but bounces are also decreasing with the rise of the 24/7 news cycle, earlier saturation of campaign news, and hardening of partisanship.

Clint Eastwood's Grampa Simpson impersonation at RNC....Old Pio's Grampa Simpson impersonation on USCHO....anybody else see an eerie coincidence?

Yeah. 'Negrohood' is racist and far moreso than golf, etc. Of my generation, I have at least one 'democrat' acquaintance who is more vocally racist than any of my conservative friends.

It just seems that on the national political stage that conservatives either can't help but saying racist stuff or attempt to periodically take borderline racist political action far more than liberals (for whatever reason). In the end, a bevy of actions from folks like Jan Brewer put her on par on racism with my vocal 'dem' acquaintance. Its just that conservative Jan has more visible impacts.
