8 runs scored in a Verlander start and they still loose. Any other time that's an automatic win. This is one of those games when where they don't make the post season, we can all point to as to why. The last time this guy sat above 85 MPH was when he was riding down the expressway. And we get 4 whopping hits off of him in 8 innings. Phil Niekro laughs at his velocity. The Royals hit Verlander harder last night in the 1st inning.
A decade ago all we begged for was to play meaningful games in September. 10 years later we're forced to beg for the same thing again this season. We're going to be 5 games out by Labor Day.
