I rather enjoy his lack of a filter. Hopefully he's replaced with Old Pio.

This is a non-partisan debate. There were just as many Repubs as Dems willing to sell our soul to the union the first time around.

And others here are more expert on this than me, but I believe that when Barry runs around yelling about how GM is taking off like a rocket and headed for the moon and is in wonderful financial shape because of his bailout, even while he's sitting on a huge pile of shares that he supposedly wants to sell on the upswing, he could be locked up for a crime commonly referred to as "pump & dump". It's a sick situation when you have the nation's executive so heavily interested in which of several competitors do well. I don't mind saying, it's un-American.
Even if he should be arrested, they won't go through an impeachment process until after the election. And actually, if he loses the election, he may pump and dump on his last day in order to put the felony onto his successor, since it takes three business days to settle.

One good news is that there is a Right to Work Committee that is starting to take shape that is funding these fights against union bosses. Sure, pundits will bring up things from the turn of the 20th century to defend themselves, but it's definitely a different time where the unions have become hostile and abusive. It's time to limit their monopolistic power.

No way! Uncle Joe says so!

Seriously, I'm no econ expert but I am a car nut. GM simply can't do anything right, from the Volt right on down (up?). Mr. Woodhill's analysis of the Malibu is spot on. Heck, even Kia and Hyundai are putting out better products than Government Motors.

Lots of stupid in that article you posted. But on the flip side, its nice to finally learn Old Pio's real name! But since I'm up for a good laugh, lets destroy this guy one point at at time...

          1) Qualifications. The bio says: "I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering. I am a software entrepreneur who is currently an investor and board member in three startup companies. I am on the Leadership Council of the Club for Growth." What in any of that has to do with analyzing the auto industry or GM in particular? So he doesn't like their new cars and their market share isn't what it was in 1950? Okayyyy... The "Club for Growth" membership (ie GOP hacks) raises a big red flag.

          2) GM fundamentals. 2.8 EPS. Trading 7 times earnings. Hardly seems like a company going under. Yes the stock is down 17% vs prior year, however Ford is down 14% so perhaps its just an auto industry sector thing.

          3) Momentum. With this crack analysis GM's stock should be sinking like a stone. Its up 6% today.

Bottom line is, any idiot can blather about this and that no matter how ridiculous as long as they get to earn a living doing it. Raging cokehead Larry Kudlow on CNBC is famous for this. However, when you're not getting paid to spout nonsense, but you use idiocy like this guy's opinion and act like its true, don't be angry when sarcastic liberals come along and have some fun at your expense.

I may be a bit off, but I believe a majority of GM sales are to Uncle Sam. Also, GM counts a "sale" as a car delivered to a dealer, not sold to a consumer. Eventually that house of cards is going to go "poof!".

Actually I think the largest piece of GM's sales are in the Chinese market where they are the #1 auto company (much like in the US). Maybe its me, but if you have the #1 position in the two largest car markets on earth I'm not sure what the problem is. I can't speak about the sales to dealerships vs consumers directly breakdown but I have no reason to think they're set up any differently than the other auto companies whether domestic or foreign owned. I'm not sure too many people buy cars over the internet!

For me any few decent points the guy had were lost in the total idiocy of his 100% confident declaration that GM would declare bankrupcy next year. It makes me wonder how guys like this get their own columns to write. A Club for Growth hack whining about the bailout would be like a gay rights activist who worked as a travel agent or some other unrelated profession using a major financial magazine as a platform to write how Chick Fil-A is going out of business. I wouldn't take any stock in that opinion either.

You must be carefully combing the internet. Places like google and yahoo don't have much on it in their news sections. Though apparently after some complaints, CNN added a short note on it on their ticker.

It's the third story under Yahoo's news section. It's 4th on their "trending now". Granted, 3rd is "Scooby Doo, WWE", which is clearly some kind of liberal plot.

Thankfully, it's "less of a story" compared to Aurora and the Sikh temple because the guy didn't actually kill anyone.

So not only did you watch CNN all day to know when they first reported it, but you know that they did it because they received complaints?
