I get off the train yesterday and I'm walking to my car, and I notice that there are piles of snow lying in front and back of every car there. Apparently it snowed in the morning and then the snow slid off the roofs, hoods, and trunks, onto the ground.

Had it snowed today instead of yesterday, it would have been a droll April 1.

Can't wait to go home and shovel.

I'll be happy when it all melts and I can rake all of the gravel back into our driveway again. That thaw had melted into some of the ground here and I could really only skim with the blade today or else I would have been taking way too much of the gravel out of the driveway. And it didn't help any that there was so much melt water in some spots that it was pretty much like wet cement right there. I probably really should have gone out and dug a trench to drain off more of the melted water on the driveway.

At least I didn't have to go to work today. They opted to be closed all day on Tuesday in advance of the storm. Nobody would have been on time for their appointments anyways.

Our second coldest in the last 80 years. And that's saying a lot for Minnesota.

It's supposed to be 44 today. 4-9" in the next 30 hours or so.

It hit 50 today in AA and I was driving around with the windows down. Tomorrow I'm going to be all bundled up to plow the gorram driveway again! *Weeping and rocking in a corner*

At least we got a good healthy amount of the snow pack to melt off around here recently. Dealing with some drainage and some minor flooding in our barn here. Had to trench through some ice on the ground to help drain water away from the barn, but that's going to freeze up as soon as that snow hits.

As I no longer take much advantage of winter - don't ski much anymore, don't play hockey outside anymore, don't have a rink in the backyard anymore, etc. - I'm starting to really wonder why the **** I live in this climate.

SE Michigan. I'd prefer not to have to get my snowblower out again.

If Atlanta got 9" their nipples might very well fall off.

Somewhat ironic in that, two years ago, there was widespread concern around here about low water levels in the reservoirs because there was so little snow in the preceding winter....

Such is nature. Just like how California is in a drought and then they finally get rain...and it's too much too fast.

Saw on the news that as of right now the current flood threat is low. That can change if we get a quick and drastic warmup.

30 inches of ice wouldn't be that uncommon in Maine. I'll bet there are lots of lakes around here with that amount

Yeah, that isn't uncommon here either, I don't know why people would make a big deal about that.
