Devils/ flyers - I see philly taking this one unless they go down early and (at best) match what NJ puts on the ice. They still have more talent than NJ with Giroux out, but talent has not been the story of this series. I wonder how philly will adjust to deal with the cycle? It has been interesting to see philly attempt and fail at initiating crap after the whistle. They got to crosby and crew, but NJ is ignoring them just like a little kid and it seems to be working.

I finally saw the video, don't get at all why Giroux was suspended. Head hit but nothing particularly violent about it; inconsistent with no discipline for Ovechkin.

Uh-oh. It's looking bad for Philly. The only way the Flyers win this one is if the Devils make an immediate trade for Joel Ward.

The advantage the Rangers have if they get by the Caps is that they've been playing against teams that play Devils-style garbage hockey these last two series. The disadvantage for the rest of us is that the Devils will (surprise surprise) do their utmost to make it entirely unwatchable like they always do. Their anti-hockey ruins a normally exciting sport.

I bet you a certain network is pleased that the Devils are advancing.

If you watched the Shanahan video, a reason he was suspended was because of the hissy fit Giroux was throwing right before he decided to skate down the ice and deliver the hit. Really gives the impression he just wanted to hurt someone because he didn't draw a penalty that wasn't a penalty. But you know, the world hates the Rangers too. So there's that.

What network would want that? Nobody wants to watch the Devils.

The rest of the East will chip in a few bucks each to make sure it stays that way.

Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

With NBC covering The Players, it would appear that any weekend games are going to be in the evening. IF the Caps-Rangers goes 7, then the West final starts Sunday and the East on Monday. If the Caps-Rangers ends Wednesday, then the West goes Saturday and the East goes Sunday.

                              Makes sense?
