And I just thought of something. The Ducks finished in the final playoff spot, while the Hawks were first. If the "league" is the entire state, then they should face off in the first round. If the league is just the Minneapolis area, well, then there should be a league champion who goes onto play the other league champions. Either way, the Ducks and Hawks should meet well before the State Finals.

Ok, now I will stop before moving on to the faults in D2 and D3.
Actually, in MN they could meet more than once in the playoffs. In MN we have District playoffs and often two or even three teams from a District will qualify for Regions, then again, two or three from a region will qualify for State. Two years ago the two Edina peewee B1 teams played each other in the State final (with the same result as at District and Region as green beat white all three times IIRC).

It was powerful and sure as heck was shocking, but for the same reasons Danny Trejo bores me so did that movie.
      Fair enough.

Except they do...when I was at the U a guy came and talked who was ridiculously similar to the character in the movie (I cant remember if he was affiliated though I remember The Daily referencing the movie) about how he changed his life completely around. even talked about the tattoos and how he was keeping them to remind him how hate pretty much destroyed his life. It is a rare thing obviously (usually people with that much hatred and violent tendencies end up dead) but it does happen.

I love American History X...if you want to talk overrated Crash is overrated. That movie put me to sleep.

Higher Learning wins for oh so many reasons...Ice Cube with the mad fro, Michael Rappaport as a Neo-Nazi and of course Jennifer Connelly/Kristi Swanson! Throw in Larry Fishbourne and Busta Rhymes and you rule every time!

It was.......odd. Brad Pitt did great, though. I thought he was hysterical.

I saw it for the first time this past winter when I saw it in Target for $5 and decided to bite. It's a good movie, but very strange. It's also remarkable how old the movie looks in regard to its vision and just the general look of the cars, clothes and even the quality of the images. It's not quite 20 years old yet. There must have been some "old-time" styled filming going on there.

ETA: I just got done watching the Goonies again. Every time I see it I feel like I'm 9 years old again, watching it for the first time on TV. It's just so much 80's movies fun.

Correct on the Goonies. I feel the same way when I see it. "Down here, it's our time! It's our time down here!"

I think maybe 12M was going for that gritty, Se7en-ish/Eastern Promises feel, but I could be wrong.

Flags of our Fathers. Wonderful, although I was disappointed the rental version didn't come with any extras.

I'm finding that more of the newer rentals (including Netflix) don't have the extras. I figure I don't mind that, because if I was that impressed by the movie, I'll just buy it, and get the extras anyways.

But I'm getting madder by the day when I see more movies that have previews that you have to skip before you get to seeing the movie you rent.

I saw The Bourne Legacy tonight...it was ok. I thought it was basically "Bourne By Numbers" since it was nothing really new at all and spent half the film referencing Ultimatum. The ending was so abrupt it seriously felt like they lost the last ten pages of the script or ran out of money so they just stopped.

It had potential to be a an awesome movie...instead it was pretty average.

Everyone in the theater I was in seemed to say 'that was it?' at the same time as the end credits started. I just figured they stopping it short to make another movie or two. Not that this excuses the poor ending, but just a thought.

Very underrated movie. Willis is great in it, too.

The French movie (La Jetee) that it's an homage to is one of the most highly-regarded sci-fi movies of all time, though personally I can't stand it -- it's told as a series of still photos like a slide show and after about 10 minutes it becomes just too precious.

If Kilgore Trout ever made a movie, it would look like "12 Monkeys" (and be played in a double bill with a hardcore porno).
