Mine would be When Harry Met Sally, but I also enjoyed Julie and Julia quite a little bit.
I looked her up earlier, and I don't recall seeing a movie by her. There may have been ONE she was involved in, but it wasn't a chick flick.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

I am honestly surprised by that. I mean, yeah her movies were chick flicks, but they were ones that you could actually enjoy. Well, I think so, anyway.

My Blue Heaven was the one I saw. That was good. Also helped (found out in hindsight) that it was a "sequel" to Goodfellas.

I had to look up who she was. I've only seen two of her movies. When Harry Met Sally was really good. You've Got Mail is just not my cuppa.

I mean, the whole dam movie is one plot hole and unbelievable bit of lunacy after another, but the catholic orphanage property tax thing really got me.
Why is a church owing property taxes something that bothers you? There's a church in St. Paul whose head preacher man came out in favor or same-sex marriage that was in the news a short while ago that almost had to close its doors because the majority of its parishioners found new churches. The reason that became a big deal - the church couldn't pay its property taxes.

Clown, I had to look her up, too. Same with a buddy of mine who knows a good amount of movies.

Well, TNotR is a knot of literary and philosophical and theological and historical allusions, so it isn't merely Sherlock Holmes, but William is not only from Baskerville he also has many of the attributes of Holmes (with one notable exception: he is charming) and there are many direct references to the connection (for example, he apparently has a similar drug habit). Adso is somewhat like Watson in being a sidekick, our narrator and a naif, though that is just as much about the whole tradition of mystery novels as specifically about H&W. Since one of the central themes of the novel is books talking to other books about other books, it's probably more accurate to say William is about playing with the idea of reimagining Holmes, not that he is a reimagining of Holmes. He's a pointer, not an address.

I am constantly amazed by how good TNotR is, in rereading portions of it repeatedly. There is far too much in it to ever get all of it, and on top of that it's entertaining to read. Those two things come together only very rarely -- for instance, Eco has never managed it again.

Did you just point out a plot hole in a movie out Abraham Lincoln the vampire hunter?
              You win the thread.

Finally watched My Left Foot. My god that movie sucks. Sure, DDL was good in the role, but I still couldn't get over how much the movie as a whole sucked. 95% of the lines the main character (DDL) says you can't understand because its all jiberish. I got the impression that he went on Jerry Burns-esk rants at some points, but he may as well have been speaking Mandarin. DDL probably nailed that role perfectly, but still, he had essentially no lines in it. I can't put it ahead of There Will Be Blood for his best performance, and its nothing against DDL, he's an amazing actor.

You know, the difference between a sticky-fingered filcher and a sticky-fingered felcher from Berlin down to Berlize is only one letter, but that would be an ENTIRELY different movie.

The cartoon they did was pretty bad too. Don't think it lasted too long. That makes me think a movie will suck too but maybe in a movie they can actually catch her.
