I can't wait for someone to catch these kids and charge them with a hate crime.

That may happen. But only because of the publicity. There was a case in OkC (where I was working at the time) where a 15-year old named Israel Byrd was attacked by a car load of AA's, who caved the boy' skull in with his skate board--while uttering racial slurs. As I left town, the DA was uncertain if hate crimes charges would be filed. The obvious imbalance in the application of these laws is reason enough to deep six them.

The news coverage of the Knockout Games stories is a bit weird.

The "Game" is being played in Hartford, New Haven, certain sections of Brooklyn. Most (but not all) of the victims tend to be named something like Goldstein or Rosenberg or Cohen. None of the stories ever mention the ethnicity of the attackers, yet when you see the video (nearly all of them have been filmed), there is a uniformity to said ethnicity that is always left unstated.

Leave it to the great Thomas Sowell to get right to the point. "This is no game, these are hate crimes."

The instinct of the MSM to proceed slowly, to make sure the facts are correct, to make sure they're not jumping to conclusions based on insufficient data is correct. And it would have been nice if those same concerns were considered a few years ago when they breathlessly reported a "wave" of "black church burnings," presumably by the usual suspects. It was only later that data revealed there had been no increase in black church fires, quite the opposite in fact. And that the fires were accidental, or for the insurance proceeds or because of some internal church squabble. Garden variety arsons, in other words. What these burning weren't however, was the handiwork of some latter day Klan night riders. But the tenor and tone of the reporting deliberately pointed in that direction, despite the lack of evidence.

We saw the same phenomenon in the recent hysterical coverage of "stand your ground," (including, but not limited to, fraudulently editing tape to make a preferred point) and the arrest of a mouthy presidential friend for lipping off to the cops.

Wanting to get it right in matters of potential racial friction is exactly the right instinct. And it should be followed in every instance. Not just in some.

Finally, the Hate Crimes Unit is getting involved:

A Jewish grandmother was slugged in the back of the head by a young thug in Brooklyn Monday — and cops suspect it may be another instance of the violent “knockout game."

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is looking into whether the attack was an occurrence of the knockout game...

Police are investigating the cases, in which the victims, often Orthodox Jews, were struck by one thug as others looked on.

The game — sometimes called “polar bear hunting,” because most victims are white — has been fueled by social media, with thugs boasting of their attacks online and posting Internet videos of the sucker punches.

Of course, even though you can see from the videos that every "thug" has similar levels of melanin, the similarity of race among each one of them still remains unstated....


and one would not expect one "polar bear' to go hunting another, eh?

The PC police have really gone overboard.

The St. Patrick's Day parade organizers in NYC have for decades if not longer had a rule (with very limited and narrow exception) that said no one can carry a message banner of any kind during the parade. Otherwise, they were quite welcoming to every and all. The parade was to celebrate friendship and community, and they didn't want anything to disrupt that.

You think abortion is murder? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You think women's reproduction rights are sacrosanct? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You want gun control? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You against gun control? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You favor same-sex marriage? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You oppose same-sex marriage? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You support the ACLU? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You oppose euthanasia? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
You support assisted suicide? You can march, but not carry a banner / sign.
etc. etc. etc. etc.


Well, somehow this message of tolerance and restraint and openness to all to be civil and friendly has been twisted and distorted.

The LGBLT community insists that somehow they have been singled out and uniquely targeted for "discrimination" because they can't carry a banner saying "hey look at me I'm gay / lesbian / whatever." and beyond that, they have convinced naive people unaware of the situation that they are somehow a special case that somehow deserves a special rule just for them. They have successfully been pressuring long-time parade sponsors into dropping the sponsorship over this spurious, trumped-up outrage.

While a moronic tweet, he was referring to the lax penalties for smoking marijuana/etc in the NBA, hence "street crime" part. But APPARENTLY, ONLY blacks are responsible for street crime. That's what the people who are calling for his head are telling us, anyway, although not directly.
