      This is consistent with my own beliefs that I am neither totally democratic or republican although I feel I lean more towards democratic. For example, some intervention is needed by government on private industry including pollution control, or financial product regulation ( CDS, CDOs, derivatives). I don't believe lower taxes will help, but I do believe that spending cuts will help. Basically a mish mash of all the ideas out there.

      I strongly think we should not involve ourselves in other countries especially when our own house is not in order.

          Sort of tough to gauge the accuracy of that thing since on about 25 of them my best answer might have been "it depends on the circumstances" so I went neutral on quite a few. For example, I'd say we need some level of regulation on certain industries as they cannot be free to trample on the rights of others (banking, environment, etc.), but how much, where and when? An agree or disagree on the regulatory questions could mean a lot of different things to different people. Same for the question about marriage. I believe having more strong and stable families likely creates a healthier society, but that certainly doesn't mean I think government should start (continue?) mandating/influencing/restricting such things. So...what do I answer on that one?

                            I think this was the most surprising result of any on the page. At least for me. For some reason, I figure you'd score quite a bit more left on this.

                              Bad survey questions leave their meaning open to interpretation. IMHO the best policy is to answer the question directly, with a bit of a "reasonable person" test not to overlawyer it. This undercuts the intention of some questions, yeah, but that's why good question writing is its own art form.

                              Pretty much any time a question says "always" or "never" it's headed for trouble.

                              That's a pretty good quiz as those things go, and the comparison function is neat. I wish they attached the count of the found set within the filtered categories, though.
