Only replying because of the thread title. The NBA could stay on strike forever and I still wouldn't care. It means more coverage for hockey.

From the Wisconsin perspective: It's nice to know that the Bucks won't be around to ruin the vibe that the Packers, Brewers and football Badgers are on.

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."

Canned music is a pathetic waste of your time.

That was some epic bricking by $Texas in the bottom of the 9th.

That was amazing. Both teams have bases loaded in the 9th and we're still going to extra innings.

Not scoring when you have the bases loaded and nobody out takes skill.

This game needs to end soon. I was supposed to be recording Terra Nova and I need that on and over before my 10pm shows start. Grrrrr. Stupid rain in Texas!!!! Ruining my TV recording and watching plans.

Speaking of that, does anyone know enough about the MLB draft to know what kind of high end talent there will be next year? Will the Twins be able to get a future Verlander with the #2 pick?

To do it twice in one game would be remarkable...

Edit: Or they can do that...

This guy doesn't think there's any superstars. Still, I would think MN should have little problem finding somebody decent with the second pick.

MLB Draft is the worst of the drafts. The mid and small market teams who get the high picks don't draft based on talent, they draft based on signability. So you don't always get the best available players.

That and baseball has the least amount of "sure things" when it comes to drafting prospects.
