It's the old story, hockey doesn't get the numbers when the games air, so it doesn't get press unless something really big happens. And unless that something really big is life threatening (skate to the throat), it will not get top billing on a national highlight reel. Either grow the sport to create interest and generate money, support an organization that does (Herb Brooks Foundation) or learn to live with it. Just stop whining about it.
    Yep, yep.

The NHL is very easy to find on NBC, NBC Sportsnet (or whatever it's called - cannel 28 or 662), the NHL network and Center Ice. What do I care if it's on ESPN?

I want to pi55 all over the producer who thought that would be funny/worth it. I understand that most of the audience are uneducated basketball fans but they're not 5 years old.

I don't understand why the "bracket advice" could just go into one distinct portion of the show.

The more that other networks will do this with majorly developing sports like soccer, lacrosse, and others, the more ESPN will realize they don't have a monopoly, and might actually work towards a better product.

Like how you started a thread about some stupid billboard in Duluth? I hope you wrote a letter before you started it.

Actually, I started the thread over a PSA. I only mentioned the billboard in the thread, and at that point, there was already a Star Trib article on the billboards, and groups were already raising hell about the billboards. I didn't need to do anything more.

Last year, both Semi-Final games were on ESPN2 and the National Championship game was on ESPN. This year, One Semi-Final game is on ESPN2 and the other is on ESPNU. Lastly, the National Championship game is on ESPN2 this year.

What College Hockey really needs is some crazy *** donor who's willing to drop something between 10 and 20 million at a couple of SEC schools to set up endowments there for the development and eventual funding of hockey programs there. Get say Kentucky, Tennessee, Vandy, and Georgia in on the mix, along with 2 ACC teams as well, Georgia Tech and perhaps Duke as well. Throw in another program that's south of the Mason Dixon line, and UAH, and you could have a pretty good 8 team league that would be a huge shot in the arm to getting college hockey on ESPN's radar.

From what I hear, NC State has a pretty good club team.

I'd rather not. Think there's b!#ch!ng now about the pairwise? Wait until they go to a BCS system and Florida and LSU play not the national title every year...

Lacrosse before hockey in the South. It's cheaper and you don't need to build a special facility.

Unless you're a sidewalk fan of a Big Ten school who only wants to play "football schools" he's heard of in non-conference play, I have no idea why anyone would want the SEC around in hockey.

The only possible upside is for the rest of us to sit back while the SEC's "recruiting practices" go head to head with Canadian Juniors and to listen to the howls and screams from our friends to the north. The SEC would pay more and the women are more attractive.
