            Why is there a shot clock on the floor? Why? There is already a massive scoreboard on the bottom that includes a shot clock. Why do I need more graphics??? This is going to be as dumb as when they started putting the down and YTG on the field for football despite it being literally two inches lower on the scoreboard.

                        Thoughts on the NCAA Hockey Selection show pushed off ESPN2 from last year to ESPNU this year?

                        Last year, both Semi-Final games were on ESPN2 and the National Championship game was on ESPN. This year, One Semi-Final game is on ESPN2 and the other is on ESPNU. Lastly, the National Championship game is on ESPN2 this year.

                          Who cares? Something like 27 people watch the selection show. As one of those 27 people, I'm not outraged.

                          ESPN and ESPN2 have the same number of subscribers. They are the same channel. As one of the 239 people who watches the Frozen Four, I'm not outraged about that either.

                                I have to agree with Dude Love in this instance. The reason the public has a low opinion of hockey is because ESPN has done a great job of not featuring it. When the network had the NHL contract instead of the NBA, coverage was fair and equitable. If one sport had a bigger story, the would be featured despite what the contract situation was. Nowadays, the Bobcats-Heat would be ahead in the rundown of say the Rangers-Red Wings. It annoyed me to end that Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final was third behind lockout talk in the NBA and the Yanks-Sox. The coverage should be treated like a national sports page where the top story gets the lead no matter who holds the rights. I really do miss the Final Score on FSN because that was a great show, and I hope NBC SN does a highlight-driven show to counteract North Korean Sports TV.

                                I do understand the Masters is going that week and I'd put them on ESPN over college hockey for ratings purposes. I do wish they'd move the Frozen Four back so they'd get more eyes. College hockey won't get run because NBC holds the regular season rights and the H word is dirty in Bristol. College lacrosse is getting more run this year. (Not that I have a problem with college lax.) It just seems the predisposition to take down the sport is out there. I wish certain sports could opt out and go to NBC SN to get more coverage.
