Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version
so we give up thomas to the twins so we can keep.... Inge.! we can't be serious. we needed another outfielder not another infielder.
inge is no worse than worth imho but still. geesh. I figure they will give him about 100 AB's and if he is terrible after that he will retire.
I knew it, inge hits HR.

I'm not so sure about this. We've got 4 that we.....well....we're using them as outfielders. Boesch, Jackson, Benny Hill Young, and Dirks. We've also got Don Kelly that we can plug in there as well in a pinch. If Delmon produces at the plate, I suppose we can choke down his defense.

How about this gem, from Tom Gage's Twitter:
Inge on strikeouts: "Such an over-rated stat, such a stupid stat. You won't hit the ball with any authority if you worry about K's."
Ummmm, Inge. When you can't hit a cow in the *** with a snow shovel, strikeouts ARE an issue. When you're Babe Ruth and slug .690 despite your K's, then strikeouts don't matter much.

LOL. I guess we can change Ernie's famous strikeout call to " he stood there like the cow at the side of the barn."
Two days in a row our favorite targets contribute to victories. I'm sure tonight Santiago will go 4 for 4 and hit for the cycle.
Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version
So far, no weather problems this month. Get out of KC with a sweep tonight and 9-3 isn't too bad. So far only 2 starters have wins, though. Texas (9-2) LA (9-2) and Washington (9-3) also at that mark. Should be telling how the Tigers fare against Texas, after the shellacking they gave the Bosox last night. 8 home games and 4 roadies left this month. Split them and we're 14-9 to start the season, about where I thought they'd be in April. Could be better if they could figure out how to catch the ball in the outfield. Pitching has been pretty decent overall and, as I thought they'd be, the hitting is all or nothing. Fun stat last night was Rod and Mario trying to sell viewers on the idea that the Tiger's team defense is really 3rd best in the AL. Let's see that after 40 games as Sparky would say.
