Isn't that basically what is called "Yule Log" which is shown non-stop on Christmas Eve/Day in the States? At least in the Twin Cities area it is.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Yeah, the case against him stands on its own merit. His defense will be one step behind the whole time unless they can spring him somehow. I guess they just put their best foot forward and hope he isn't left staring at his shoes as they announce the verdict.

They better keep an eye on him, lest he make a run for it.

I was in Boston over the weekend, and between Sat eve and Sun morn there was about 4" of snow. While walking to brunch Sun, I saw, not one, not two, but THREE cars in which the driver merely pushed the snow down to the bottom of the windshield.

Yup, headlights were completely obscured, the hood was completely covered with snow, and there was even a mound of higher snow across the car at the bottom of the windshield. I suppose they were driving too slowly to worry about hitting a bump in the road that would toss all that snow right back up onto the windshield again.

It's one thing to be rude to others, but when you are rude to yourself???? what the fark??

Back in the day I would stop those cars and offer the driver a choice - a $95 ticket for driving with an obscured view or the chance to get out of the car and clean off the snow.

Option #2 also came with the obligatory stern lecture.

Obscured view? If it doesn't snow that much, I never clean off my truck, snow ends up at the back of the hood, but it has never obscured my view, I look right over it.

Scandal erupted at the University of Pennsylvania today when it was discovered that, for more than twenty years, the campus bookstore had been selling wirebound notebooks decorated with the university arms in which the first and last words of the school motto had been obliterated. The former motto, “Leges sine moribus vanae” (“Laws are vain without morals”), was thus somewhat altered in meaning. In a quickly convened emergency meeting, the trustees voted to alter the “outdated and patriarchal” official motto to match the one printed on the notebooks, “acknowledging the latter as a better reflection of current conditions in university life.”

I kid you not. From The National Institutes of Health:

Rare Disease Day, held each year on February 28, was established to raise awareness about the estimated 7,000 rare diseases that affect about 25 million Americans.
