Re: Fantasy Baseball studs and duds

So I have some interesting decisions

    10 AL only 5x4
I'm in 7th place - but only 9 points out of the money. My team has not been healthy all year. I've lost games from Hamilton, Kendrick, Phil Hughes, Jeff Niemann, Rajai Davis, and had Joaquin Soria (temporarily it seems) lose his closer role. Should I consider dumping? Guys like Verlander, Youkilis and Hamilton could get a lot for next year. On the other hand, part of me thinks that if my team only got healthy I have a chance at making a run.

    12 team AL 4x4
This is a bit tougher. I'm leading the league - but my pitching staff is in rough shape outside of Heran, Mariano, and Pineda. I have some guys that could bring in some pitching help that are good for this year and potential keepers. One guy gave me a list of players we was interested in. He seems to think he can get a piece of Longoria or Price with some of his players - but the only one he mentioned that should get that level is Granderson or Cabrera.

Do you think that a trade of Alex Gorden and Random pitcher (Outman, Hochevar are best bets) for Michael Cuddyer and Scott Baker is a fair offer or should I look for something better?

I nade the trade of Gordon and Outman for Cuddyer and Baker.

Now made an offer of Pineda/Baker for Sabathia/Verlander. Essentially keepers for non-keepers.

Is it time to give up on Kyle Drabek for this season?

Probably. You might be able to trade him to a last place team as a keeper. I'm considering doing that as I have a team near the bottom.

Francisco Liriano has gone from a dud to a stud recently. He has a sub-2.00 ERA in his last 6 starts, after having an ERA over 10 after his first 5. Conveniently, I traded for him after his 5th start.

                Yup.

Now if I'd just change my lineup more than once every 3 weeks I might have a chance to move up the standings.

At the start of play today, I have a team that has no hitters with double digit homers. And this team has Josh Hamilton and Kevin Youkilis.

A little surprisingly, Pineda/Baker for Sabathia/Verlander was turned down.

                      My starting pitchers yesterday, combined: 20.2 IP, 3 W, 22 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.92 WHIP. That'll do.

Has Baker and Zimmermann (WAS), so not quite as good as that, but still a nice day for my pitching staff.

Zack Greinke has been more stud than dud, but I am glad I forgot to start him yesterday.

People that started Baker are probably happy again, with him throwing 7.1 with 0 ER and 9 K's.

                                Studs:

                                Over the last month:
Michael Cuddyer is hitting .343 with 19 runs, 5 HR, 21 RBI.
Curtis Granderson is only hitting .226 but with 21 R and 21 RBI, 7 HR and 6 SB.
Brandon Morrow has 4 wins and 41 K in 37 innings, though his ratios aren't great.
                                Cole Hamels is awesome.

                                Duds:

I just dropped Adam Dunn. He's hitting .029 against lefties this year, how is that even possible?
