      All kidding aside, there needs to be a reasoned debate on WoP and its effectiveness on not.

        It made about as much sense as the War on Terror. You can't declare war on a symptom. We are having a reasoned debate on the root causes, now. That's what the billionaires call "class warfare."

            You have to suspect that Ahmadinejad's grip is really slipping, right? So why be so provocative with all the nuclear threats and whatnot at such a fragile moment? Doesn't that just hasten his own end, or does he want us to take out "his" citizens along with him? Or drum up support for the regime? or what?
            Anyway, looks like it'll soon be somewhat of another war for our guys to stay in practice shooting people for awhile. I guess it's gotta be someplace, and people were getting tired of Iraq.
            Huskies are very intelligent and trainable. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. Grooming is minimal; bathing is normally unnecessary.

              I'm guessing we stay out of it unless we are unavoidably drawn in. Maybe not though.

                The Israelis are going to bomb him. Then we have to decide if we want to get involved or not. I say let them handle it. We can't afford to keep getting into wars.

                      Israel should do what they think is in their national interest. So should we. So, for that matter, should Iran. In this situation, Israel and Iran have domestic political forces driving them towards a war. That's not our problem. Our alliance with Israel should be defensive. For that matter, all of our alliances should be defensive. If one of our allies attacks another country and starts a war, we have no national interest in getting involved, and every interest in staying out.

                      If Iran launched a war against Israel that would be different. Then we should honor our commitment for mutual defense.

                          It doesn't make it any less irritating or crazy from our point of view, but this is all nothing new. Every time a Middle Eastern potentate has ethnic or sectarian unrest, he picks a neighbor and saber rattles. Israel is the greatest gift to authoritarian regimes because it's evergreen, and because the Israelis themselves are about as diplomatic as Ulf Samuelsson.

                              The best idea I've seen is to negotiate directly with the leaders of the Revolutionary Guard. They have quite a good deal going for themselves, with all the business interests they own. "We'll spare your property from damage if in return you toss aside the person that is endangering the safety of said property with his recklessness."
