Atlantic Hockey Women's Pick the Standings 2024-25


This has been done with the ECAC and Atlantic Hockey men for years and wondered if anyone would be interested to do it here?

If so, make sure to get your picks in. I know this will be starting late, but there are only a few games in the can.

Just rank your teams from 1 to 6 in how you feel they will finish the regular season.

Copy and paste this list, keeping them in alphabetical order, and provide the ranking you think each team will end the regular season. Just replace the alphabetical order number with your predicted ranking:

3 - Penn State
4 - RIT
5 - Robert Morris
6 - Syracuse


Scoring is fairly simple. In short, you will receive a score based on the square of the distance from your picks to the actual standings (e.g., if you pick a team in 4th but they finish in 7th, you get (7-4)² or 9 points). Sum those up for the six teams and the entrant with the lowest score will be our winner.

...just winging it. RIT looks like a team that's working hard to get out of the perennial basement spot, and that's great to see. Lindenwood just seems to always be fine with lingering at the bottom, so I put them at #5 and Syracuse at #6, because Syracuse is so different since Paul Flanagan retired. For me, Robert Morris is the dark horse - they were a good team when their program got canned in 2021, and now they have to scratch their way back, but I don't know anything about the new Robert Morris. #1 and #2 should be pretty certain with Penn State and Mercyhurst, hopefully in that order.

Penn and Mercyhurst are clearly out in front with GF-GA being +11 and +8, respectively. The rest of the pack is running minuses, except for RIT at +1.

Penn and Mercyhurst also lead the goal scoring and points totals, holding the top 3 spots in each.
