Anyone know what Lake Forest's plans are? Wilson stepped down just over a month ago and no news since

Emma Knoll (King's '23) has been named Interim Head Coach at Hilbert. She had originally been hired as the assistant coach but is now replacing Earl Utter who leaves after 1 season

I believe that LFC and Augsburg made hires this past week.

Lake Forest has hired Amy Budde (Lake Forest '19) who scored over a point per game her sophomore through senior years as a player. After graduation she played 2 years in the SDHL and the last 2 seasons of the PHF with Buffalo. She played in Europe last season, scoring 11 points in 14 games with the EWHL's Lakers K?rnten.

So Lake Forest went with an alumna straight out of a pro career rather than their five season assistant, former GAC goaltender Amanda Di Nella. Granted her bio indicates Di Nella also has a career in nursing, so the assistant gig at LF may not be full time and maybe the full time gig didn't appeal...

So it appears the assistant coach has more coaching experience than the new head coach, and she'll be able to nurse them back to good health when they're sick or injured. She's already more valuable than the new head coach. Lol. At this time of year it must have been a very shallow pool of people that applied but to hire someone with almost no coaching experience seems a bit odd even if she is an alum.

This hire makes me wonder who Augsburg, St. Mary's, and Lawrence will find. Fun and games in D3 hockey! Lmao

Lake Forest has had an assistant position open, Di Nella resigned over the summer. Wilson apparently never filled it before leaving for her "D1 opportunity".

Di Nella did apply, and interviewed for the position, but as previously poster stated, Lake Forest went with a former player with no previous coaching experience, instead of their previous five year assistant coach.

Apologies then. Di Nella was still on the site so I assumed she was still in place.

Augsburg names Elizabeth "Biz" Bauer their head coach, no interim tag. Bauer was their assistant coach last season. Prior to joining Augsburg, Bauer gained coaching experience as the girls' hockey director at MAP Hockey (an offseason training program) an assistant coach for Team Wisconsin at the U16 level. She also has experience as a performance trainer and facilities manager at St. Croix Acceleration in Hudson, WI.

Bauer graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2020 as one of their best players in program history. Bauer has 3 First Team All-WIAC nods and one AHCA 2nd Team West All-American honor. Bauer played in the PWHPA barnstorming circuit after graduation.

                        Talk about an underwhelming hire...

Buff State announces Christian Foerstner as their new assistant coach. He was the assistant for the women's ACHA squad at University of Jamestown the past two seasons.

Considering Buff State's rumored thriftiness when it comes to investing in this program this isn't an awful move.

The Ronald B Stafford ice arena on the campus of SUNY Plattsburgh has been selected as the predetermined host of the 2027 NCAA championship weekend.

Plattsburgh was the host in 2014, 2015, and 2016 during the Cardinals' 4-peat dynasty and was only stopped from hosting in 2013 and 2017 by the rule preventing the championship from being in the same region 4 straight years.
