A lot of close games this past weekend.
In the SUNYAC, Cortland split the weekend with a loss to Canton and a win over Potsdam. Plattsburgh beat Potsdam on Friday and then a tie to Oswego following a collapse where the Cards gave up a 2-0 lead with ~ 4:30 left in the third. Morrisville also split the weekend, losing to Oswego on Friday and beating Canton on Saturday.
Hamline swept #15 St. Mary's
River Falls tied UWSP but drubbed Northland.
Endicott and WNEU split a weekend series.
GAC, Adrian, Utica, Midd and Amherst all swept their opponents.

I watched both Middlebury at Hamilton games. Midd is really good as they hustle and execute their systems on offense and defense. It was a clinic watching them possess the puck, run breakouts, set dump plays, and while they only had a couple chances on the PP, I would not want to go to the box against them. Mandigo wins for a reason: they are well-drilled.
Hamilton also played very hard and the games were very close, with Hamilton actually out-shooting Midd both games. It felt like Ham chased Midd on Friday, but Saturday was more even.

I can say that St. Mary's before the late-in-the-game coaching change, several western programs considered SMU the MIAC favorite and even a Frozen Four contender with how skilled their top players are. The coaching change was huge with how acclaimed Davis has been. New coaching systems and lack of experience are definitely going to threaten this team's upside. That and the fact there are never easy games in the MIAC. But we've already seen they can play with some of the best.

#6 Plattsburgh wins an ugly one 3-1 against the Canton Kangaroos, handing the 'Roos their first loss to a ranked team this season.
Coach Kevin Houle reached career win 500, joining Bill Mandigo and Mike Carroll in the 500 win club.
It was a back and forth matchup up and down the ice, with the Cardinals having way more good chances than Canton.
Of the 4 goals scored in this game, Ciara Wall's power play goal to put the Cards up 2-0 was the only score that didn't go in off a defender. Ruegge, Wall and Conlon were the Plattsburgh scorers.
Plattsburgh hosts Buff State tomorrow, a team that has a win over Canton, a split in 2 games with Neumanm and a tie with Potsdam.
Canton will visit #7 Utica on Tuesday, their 3rd of 4 non-conference games against a ranked (or will likely be ranked) team this season. Their 4th is December 7th when they host Hamilton.

Middlebury wins in overtime against Wesleyan. Despite Midd throwing more than 50 shots on goal during regulation. The first 10 minutes of the game were Wesleyan throwing off their bus legs and being pinned in their own end. After that Wesleyan proved they were the faster team on the ice and disrupted the Middlebury system, and had multiple good opportunities of their own. Wesleyan took two games from Midd last year, so the rematch this afternoon ought to be interesting.
