Yeah but there's no demand for the ticket's so naturally you'd get them.

The "All Tournament Team" for 16U Tier 1 Nationals was a hodgepodge of girls from different teams based solely upon points scored. Which is fine--expect they had only loaded about 20% of the games into the system, so to say the stats were "off" is being generous. She compares to Vivian in that they are both female and both play hockey. But that's really where the comparisons begin and end.

So until players who have "committed" to a University sign a NLI it's nice but not certain. Especially players who have a couple of years to go until enrollment.

You're fun. I'm going to be excited about our commitments, but feel free to wrap yourself in your wet blanket. USCHO gets less and less worth spending any time on anymore since it's mostly people yelling at each other in rants that switch between pedantic and lunatic and a shower of relentless negativity. Thankfully there are actually reporters covering the sport now so this isn't as useful a font for information anymore.

I mean, sure? I guess I'll go back and delete my posts about every recruit for the next two years because they haven't signed on the dotted line since nothing is certain.

Everyone's really in a mood here recently, it's almost remarkable.

            • Ordered my Wrigley Field tickets today! Both boys and the wife are excited for the experience. We are going to make a weekend in Chicago out of it. So I guess, mission accomplished!!! Go Badgers.

I don't know, on the one hand I appreciate an opinion of someone who has seen a player play. How much you trust their judgement is another. BadgerDad2022 is new to us, but he seems connected into the world of HS aged hockey players. Do I trust his opinion more than MJ's??? Not so much. Shayla being invited to national camps is a good thing. She's young and I'm sure the coaches told her what they'd like to see her work on. The fact that they offered her at this point tells me all I need to know.

In the end it's ok for us and Badgerdad2022 to have different opinions.

Technically you are right, but when a player commits to UW pre-NLI ink, they are coming. Rarely does someone not come to UW after verbally committing. I can think of 2 in the last 8 years.

Not my cup o tea, but have a great time and drowned out the 12 people who will be there from that other school.

Not trying to be negative or rain on your post. It was more a statement of the times that things are less certain than they use to be. I would trust a coaches opinion that has had a little bit of success doing this over others who aren't in that position. If when the time comes they aren't on the hook if the development isn't there as expected.

I am thinking by your tag that you are OK with cold weather. Having lived in Chicago, and done the winter walk along the lakeshore, you will earn your name. Experienced some pretty awesome weather along the lake. What stands out most for me was trying to get deep enough water to swim in during a summer heat wave. After walking what seemed like 3 city blocks, my feet were so cold I turned around and ran back to shore. Lake Michigan reminded me of Devils Track Lake by Grand Marais. Tried to walk out to retrieve a snagged lure, and got halfway to it, lost feeling in my legs and went back to shore.
I applaud your heartiness, and hope that some of the dilettantes on this site make it to an outdoor game once in their life. (snart alert)*

One month until we get back into the barn! Whooot!

TDM had an article about OB's wrist surgery. She played through it the second half of last season and did rather well with the injury. I can't wait to see her fully healthy again. His article also pointed out how crucial she is in the faceoff dots. Her coming back is MEGA huge.

                            Let's go RED!

I've had my share of cold growing up in Western Wisconsin, but have softened quite a bit in my 30 years of living in the Madison Area. I expect I'll be bundled up pretty snug for these games! Two teenage boys though - we'll see what kind of lesson they learn, or hopefully a lesson they've already learned and they are prepared too!

Staying warm out in winter has gotten easier to do over that time period, with the "Under Armour" kind of base layer polyester/spandex kind of stuff. If you don't have any, you should get some - buy or borrow?. It isn't particularly cheap for just 'one day use". Under Armour in particular might be more expensive than other makers - Champion, eg. - so see if you know anyone you can borrow from. But I run outdoors through the winter - Appleton growing up and now Madison - and that stuff is great.
