    No Abby Roque.
I think it’s cool how former player and mom of 3 NHL’ers Ellen Hughes has a player development role. Would love to read more about what she does.

Here is info about Finland's roster! It includes current NCAA players Sanni Ahola, Nelli Laitinen, Krista Parkkonen, and Sofianna Sundelin.

(I was having trouble making edits to the original post.)

Is there an inside story on Abby Roque not getting invited? She is playing in the PWHL so it doesn't appear to be an injury.

Really strange since Roque was mentioned a couple of years ago by Hilary Knight to have the potential to be the best player in the world.

Abby Roque leading the PWHL in penalty mins could be part of it. Abbey Murphy is there of course, though, despite PIMs!

PWHL NY overall doesn't have much presence at Worlds. NY players Jessie Eldridge, Micah Zandee-Hart, and Corinne Schroeder aren't on this Canada roster after being on rosters for Rivalry Series (though Schroeder didn't get to play). Ella Shelton and Jaime Bourbonnais are on Canada, and Alex Carpenter must be a shoo-in for USA. Maybe there's more to Roque's lack of an invite, I'm not sure. Agreed it's odd.

Maybe Mr. Incredible is simply trying to motivate her - her 3 goals through 16 games along with a team worst minus-7 indicates there is a long way to go to reach Ms. Knight's projections.

According to The Hockey News, China is not allowing dual-national citizens to compete on their team this year (story). If this is accurate, this would affect dual-national players in the NCAA and beyond, including in the NCAA Kas Betinol, Tia Chan, Anna Fairman, Anna Segedi, and Camryn Wong, reportedly. That sounds disappointing for these players and the team. The Chinese league would then be maybe the exclusive source for the Chinese team.

THN and other media like the Rome Sentinel report that China's national team (which is in Group B) has arrived in Utica and is practicing there for weeks before Worlds.

Reporter Michelle Jay shared this broadcast/stream schedule for NHL Network and ESPN+.
NHL Network hadn't yet announced their schedule for Apr 9 and onward. She surmises all games listed from then on that are not on ESPN+ are on NHL N. (See also The Ice Garden USA preview. In Canada, all games are on TSN.)

Five 2023-24 Wisconsin players made the roster, including Caroline Harvey, Lacey Eden, Kirsten Simms, Laila Edwards, who will be the first Black woman to play for USA at Worlds, and Britta Curl. It was also interesting to learn from The Athletic's article that sophomore Sydney Morrow led the country in scoring by a defender this season... She was tied for total points with Nicole Gosling, Haley Winn, and Kate Reilly but had more points/game.

How does O'Brien not make this team over Edwards?

                        I was thinking similar.

O'Brien's game is much more mature than Edwards. She'll go to all the dirty places that you have to go to to win. Edwards isn't there quite yet.

Isn't quite there yet is the best way to put it. She's a fantastic player and will get better and better...just at this point in time O'Brien is the better all around player.
