I would assume the only remaining domino would be Norwich to the LEC and then Salve to LEC or CCC.

        • Am I mistaken but if Norwich make the move to join the men in the LEC, they lose Pool A access unless the LEC is granted a waiver? And if they did that for the LEC it stands to reason they have to do one for the MASCAC so they might not...

That's what I thought too. I don't know if NU would bite the bullet for a year to save face, but time will tell.

Also, with Northland staying open (for now), and the access ratio changing, we should have a 13-team postseason in the 2024-25 season.

And there it is... Norwich to the LEC as an affiliate member, meaning it'll be at-large or bust for the Cadets.

              • Maybe I have a weird sense of humor but I would be highly entertained if Salve tried to maintain the NEHC autobid under the 2 season grace rule as a one team conference....

I don't they would succeed in the above, but the drama would be funny.

Maybe the NCAA does waive the waits for the LEC and MASCAC? Under the premise that there would still be 3 Pool Cs? I wouldn't be counting on it if I were either but seeing the bids on paper it doesn't seem as farfetched...

With the NPI coming into play next year, and using the dials D1 uses (25% win percentage/75% SOS) here would have been the field last season using pre-NCAA tournament data.

It is my understanding that D3 will set their own dials. In fact, each D3 sport will set their own dials. So, thanks for the post, but I'm afraid it may not be too useful (I know you just did it for fun) until we hear exactly what the D3 women's hockey dials are going to be.

Nov 30, Dec 1: Codfish Bowl (-Boston, MA)

TBD at UMass Boston (assuming this will be Bowdoin, but we'll see)
                            St. Olaf vs. Amherst

Nov 29, 30: Dubuque Thanksgiving Tournament (-Dubuque, IA)

Nov 1, 2: Utica Kickoff Classic (-Utica, NY)

No report on matchups here, but I know Wilkes is in it, along with the host team obviously

Jan 3, 4: Castleton Invitational (-Rutland, VT)

Same goes as above, but besides Castleton, I only know of Potsdam joining this one.

-Big headliner is St. Norbert being the west rep at Cardinal/Panther this year. I'm not sure if the SNC seniors from last year are returning. If they all moved on (there were a lot), that could be a decently easy opponent. If they took 5th years, that is most definitely a dangerous test then. Odd to not see UWRF, GAC, UWEC, or Adrian though.

-The Tampa games have a nice grouping of teams, but was hoping for one more west team along with Adrian like we got in SC last year.

-No west teams at the Norwich tournament stings too, but that is a very intriguing field.

-St. Olaf going to Boston is quite interesting too. I'm guessing it's been quite a while since the Oles have gotten to travel that far as a team.

-It'll be interesting who also got an invite to the Utica Kickoff, as those were great games last year. I'll blindly guess Elmira and Aurora fill out the field.

                              • SNC's biggest losses were their senior goalie and All-Conference forward Morgan Olson. Most of their roster is back as they'll have a solid senior group and will be competitive, question is will they take a step forward offensively as losing Olson isn't going to help. They have talent, but don't play cohesively at times when I watched them. If they don't take a step forward, they'll most likely be in over their head with Plattsburgh or Middlebury.

St Olaf is an interesting team, who took a major step backwards last year. The prior year they looked like a potential breakout team. I believe they'll bounce back, but it won't be easy. Augsburg and Hamline both recruited well, have a lot returning, and pulled in some talent from the transfer portal. Saint Mary's was young and competitive and even though GAC was a notch down from previous highs, they are still really good. While it's GAC's crown to lose, the MIAC conference should be really interesting to watch this year.
