Some of these rosters are huge. Adrian has 17 forwards on their roster. How is that manageable?

It's not, but Admissions sure does love it! Not sure how these coaches deal with 7-9 kids in their office every Monday saying, "what do I need to do to play more?" "When will I get a chance?" Better hope for an injury kid. Nice team jacket though!

In other news, the D3 Pre-championship manual is out, and it's confirmed that 2025 and 2027 will be neutral site championships. Also, they are still "reviewing a date formula change," which could push the championship back to be the same time as the men's tournament, starting in 2025. This would mean a full week between the opening round and the quarterfinals.

Very few surprises here: Norwich a slight surprise over Elmira given their losses, but understandable.

I don't recall seeing the site selection documents detailed like this before with all of the requirements.

                        Official Preseason Poll is out:

                        1. Gustavus
                        2. Amherst
                        3. Plattsburgh
                        4. UW-River Falls
                        5. Hamilton
                        6. Adrian
                        7. Middlebury
                        8. Colby
                        9. UW-Eau Claire
                        10. Norwich
                        11. Nazareth
                        12. Elmira
                        13. Utica
                        14. Cortland
                        15. St. Norbert

Virtually no change from last year's final poll. River Falls and Hamilton swap from 4/5, and the tie for 14th between Cortland and Norbert is settled. Literally the only changes.

Only tangentially related to hockey but Elmira College, which has been rumored to be under a lot of financial strain, is adding more varsity sports.

They have announced they are adding women's competitive dance and a varsity-status ACHA men's team and now they appear to be adding the previously cut men's and women's lacrosse teams back to varsity.

Either things have turned around or they are going full Daniel Webster, adding a lot of athletes as an emergency measure to boost enrollment.

Interesting roster construction at Gustavus with 13 of the 27 players on the squad being freshmen. They also have 4 super seniors (COVID 5th year players) going for back-to-back NCAA titles for the Gusties. Will the Final Four be held in St. Peter this season?

I also saw somewhere Gustavus has about 3-4 additional non-rostered "practice players" along with a couple girls hopefully being back sometime this season recovering from the tragic accident. That puts the roster over 30. Very well could be in St. Peter this season, but who knows how they'll come out this year given the emotional wringer that campus has been through.
