Yes, this is correct. I had fake news in my original post that she was 2024/2025 recruit...

The Tunnelers apparently have received commitments from north of the border in twin sisters Sara and Kate Manness for 2025.

Instead of the tunnelers maybe the nickname should be the sister act?

More career penalty minutes than points, ya don't see that every day in women's hockey at any level.

I'd actually say it's the publicity she does want. She's an awesome player and the kind, combined with her skill, that's been missing from USA Hockey for many years. Few embrace the villain role more than Murphy, and I count myself as a fan.

You do with Gopher Women's Hockey. On the blue line, it's very common, even with people who were Olympians, Kazmaier Finalists, and/or WCHA DPotY (C. Kennedy, Gagnon, Schleper, Bozek, McMillen). Minnesota has had a lot of people up front where that was true as well, including many of their star players. The Lam's (I think that was true for Monique every year of her NCAA career), Stephens, Ross, West, Erickson, A. Potomak. It would be nice if they were all like Hannah Brandt and had at least 50 more points than penalty minutes every year, but that's more rare than those who are in the red.

It's not like Wisconsin has never had a player in that mold. Madison Packer comes to mind. She seemed to know her way to the penalty box very well.

Abby Roque was close in 2018: 41 points and 40 PIM.

And as a frosh, she had more PMI than points. A lot of people will have a season like that, but Timothy is talking about a career. I'd guess that most of the forwards who achieved that for UW were people whose role wasn't too focused on putting the puck in the net (Kelly Nash, Jasmine Giles).

A lot of those there hardly penalties. She was so strong on her skates that when opposing players ran into her they bounced off her and fell down. Murphy is out there a hackin' away.

The only thing interrupting the crickets in this thread is a sinner poster defending a sinner player's penalty minutes because it's not her fault other players run into her.

That is the state of GWH these days.

Darwitz will not be coaching at Hill-Murray after all. She was just named the inaugural GM of the PWHL Minneapolis franchise and won the lottery for first pick the player draft (could very well be Taylor Heise).
