That forecast is for the entire route between Minneapolis and Duluth. Keep an eye out for updates and Be Safe!!

For the Ohio St people coming through Madison and Eau Claire, the switchover from rain to snow looks like it won't happen until late afternoon or evening Thursday in Eau Claire, and may not happen in Madison at all. So it's 'only' the last 150 miles or so to really be worried about.

You're making me miss my hometown - only two more months of winter to go! :0)

So, you're predicting an early spring then?

So what does Minnesota put on their freeways to control snow & ice? Salt, sand, something else?

              Nothing. Just snowtires and chains.

As usual, Timothy is clueless about anything that involves ice.

It's easier to copy the DOT website info! In addition to the 800 state snowplows, local cities and counties own many plows, often attaching plow blades to dump trucks and other vehicles. BTW, the forecast calls for the snow heaviest from 9am Thursday through 7am Friday. Snow showers and blowing snow all through Friday. Drive carefully! I'll be on I-35 as I'm leaving from Minneapolis, it's well plowed. I've never driven that stretch from Eau Claire to Duluth in the winter, I assume Wisconsin will take care of it.

Roads? What are these roads of which you speak? Just turn right when you come to the herd of musk ox.

I'm here in Duluth checked into my hotel.
It was light rain coming into St.Paul and continued to rain on I-35 and after about 10 miles it turned into snow.
The last 50 miles into Duluth a lot of snow and slush but the plow trucks were out and spreading salt as well.
