Definitely a calmity for the mythical 17 (minus the slOwSU posters) who are butt hurt over the fact that the Muzzinator is utilizing the portal better than your rooting choice.

Plus I feel like she has created calamity in the college hockey world replacing an eastern team in the top 4 and the gap seems to be very wide to everyone but maybe NE.

It's my second choice. I think calamity describes her the best. She makes a mess then has to clean it up later.

Yeah, but can Catwoman walk across ice in spike heels?
That seems like a superpower to me! (Big Grin)

As hard of a time as we are giving tosu about a perceived lack of loyalty to recruited players, I have a true example of that in former UW coach Tony Granato. For last season, he had 22 F and 14 D committed. 1/3 of them never made it to Madison, so he was in someone's house, pours the love on them and expounds on how awesome UW is, gets them to fall in love with UW, then he never gets them to Madison. Not only that, but he brought in transfers, talked to the press about how great player X will be and how important they are to the season, then he doesn't play them in but a few games. I sure am glad that clown is gone. Great guy, great player, horrific coach.

Comments have been made about St. Cloud having tosu numbers of players in the portal, but they are in a culture change after year1 of a new coach, that is kind of to be expected.

Word up in Potsdam is Rhea Hicks from Syracuse will be a Golden Knight.

Jaidan Fahrny in the portal. I wonder, her being a Pittsburgh native whether she will be at RMU?

That depends on what the topic is. Is she officially a transfer? No, not at all, for the reasons that you and robertearle stated. But if we're looking at other forwards potentially being displaced by bringing in a late addition, what does a displaced player care whether or not Eden ever attended a class at Princeton if her shifts are gone all the same.

COVID, the Ivys cancelled their season; not only was Eden never a player at Princeton, she literally never even enrolled as a student at Princeton. No, IMO, Eden does not belong on a 'transfer' list; Wisconsin is the only team she's even been a part of, and the only school she's ever attended.

some might even say these schools are selecting, not recruiting

    :-)

It does bring up another topic of if there will be another catalyst to grow girls Hockey. Maybe girls hockey needs more elite players and players in general

If you want to play in the Olympics, your best bet is to play for UM or UW, so yes a lot of the top players are beating the doors in to get into those 2 schools. You almost have to to keep yourself in the Olympic field of vision.
Bilka talked to top non- Ivy ECAC schools but most of them don't have very significant graduate programs which limits their ability to take in 5th year transfers. Big schools like OSU, Wisco and Minn offer much more from a graduate school perspective and therefore can more easily take 5th years who have graduated from undergrad.
