I'm pretty sure control over the scheduling is the NCAA'a call, not hers.

You mentioned in both those games there was a six day gap. Quinnipiac will have only one full day of rest. Would you think that would be more of a factor to than the six days of rest?

Taking the opportunity to pile on to the lousy rink the OSU women are forced to play at :-), I wonder what the 'training room' facilities are like there, particularly for a visiting team, and how that might figure into Q's ability to recover. How many 'ice bath' tanks, massage tables, etc. I expect they are less than 'ideal'.

I confess that I have no knowledge of what type of access visiting teams have to features like ice baths in a general case. Obviously for injuries, there must be protocols and professional courtesies in place to ensure that athletes receive proper medical treatment. But for a regular road series, who knows about ice bath access?

That said, if the NCAA is trying to make the site neutral when it comes to playing fight songs and goal horns, there must also be rules to give fair access to the ice baths on the premises. That would suggest that places like LaBahn and Ridder, where there would also be access to the men's facilities next door for a special event, have an advantage when hosting.

I guess I'm saying equal access to something that isn't there in the first place may be equitable, but not very useful. I have no doubt there are great facilities across the whole of the OSU campus. But at that actual rink? Probably not much, home or visitor.

Many of us who are in our senior years and lifelong Buckeyes have a deep sentimental attachment to St.Johns and would hate to see it go. When the women get their new arena I hope the old rink stays. It's utilized quite a bit for public skates and many intermural game. It's in a much more convenient location for the students than where the location of the new arena will supposedly be.

The interior space is well taken care of. The reason to tear down St. John would be the value of the land -- for an academic building or a dorm. The historic and sentimental value of St. John is a major reason for the gridlock, as Hockey Buckeye notes.

I have never heard anyone say that either the Equipment Managers or Athletic Trainers are lacking for equipment, supplies or space. This "issue" is a figment of your imagination.

Late in the 2nd period today, the Buckeyes had a 2 on 1. They didn't score, but they didn't wait too long to make the 1st pass. What's up with that? Teams always wait too long to make the 1st pass on an odd man rush.

And when the Buckeyes played the Gophers in the final face-off I don't think they ever lost a faceoff in their offensive zone in crunch time. What's up with that? Do they practice this stuff? Is it intentional or is it just an accident?

That's not quite accurate. Ella Huber was terrible taking face-offs. I'm pretty sure that's why Heise spent so much time on the ice over the last eight minutes. Overall, she was good on draws, but was out of gas for the last 3-4 minutes.

Great win. Pure Muzzenator hockey. Hot goalie? No problem, just keep the puck in their end all game, grind out double the shots until the game is in hand and then walk off the ice on your four inch spike heels like the gum-chomping dominatrix that you are.
